Saint Cosme

Saint Cosme somehow combines affordability, luxury, and over 600 years of history into some of the most remarkable wines in the Southern Rhône. Considered a benchmark in its home town of Gigondas, Saint Cosme is a historical gem, founded in some time before 1416. Louis Barroul heads the estate as the 14th generation of his family to do so. Professionals and reviewers consider him one of the region’s greatest winemakers who offers consistently excellent quality and value across the entire portfolio.

Barroul crafts rich and powerful wines with undeniable terroir signatures. To highlight these varying terroirs, the estate bottles a handful of single-vineyard Gigondas, which are the most interesting and coveted wines in the portfolio.

The late Chris Bilbro is a hero of California wine. He founded Marietta Cellars in 1978, growing it into one of the finest producers of value-driven California wines. Chris sadly passed away in 2019, and today his son, Scot Bilbro, runs the winery. The lineup is as good as it’s ever been: full of delicious, gutsy wines that over-deliver at all prices (that max out at a mere $40). If these had “Napa” on the label, you wouldn’t blink if these were triple the price.

Château des Jacques: Jadot in Beaujolais

Louis Jadot purchased their Moulin-à-Vent estate in 1996, becoming one of the first major Burgundy houses with significant holdings in the region. Their vineyards including holdings in some of the most famous Beaujolais crus of Moulin-à-Vent, Morgon, and Fleurie. These vineyards are notable for their pink granite soils, unique to the region, on which Gamay excels.

Since taking over the estate, Maison Jadot has added organic and biodynamic practices, less with a mind towards certification than towards the health and character of each parcel.

The hand harvested grapes are rigorously sorted and destemmed before undergoing Burgundian winemaking techniques such as long macerations, natural fermentation, and barrel maturation.

Tuscan Trove On Sale Now 7-13-25

Headlined by Tenuta Degli Dei

It’s hard not to be excited when talking about Tuscan wine. With a climate mirroring that of Napa Valley and a culture with roots that reach back to the time of the ancient Etruscans, Tuscany is truly a land of incredible food, history, and wine. It’s a region that both honors and challenges traditions. The fine-edged Sangiovese of Chianti and the plush reds of Montepulciano are next door to a more borderless zone where international varieties comingle. Welcome to the realm of the Super Tuscan. These wines emerged in the 1970s as a rebellious response to restrictive DOC regulations that prioritized local grapes over quality. Instead of conforming, visionary producers blended Sangiovese with international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, crafting powerful, age-worthy wines that captured global acclaim.

Weingut Dönnhoff is one of our favorite German producers. We stock their wines by the pallet-load. And we’re not the only ones obsessed. Folks frequently tell us that a bottle of aged Hermannshohle GG (with its “Grand Canyon-like depths”) or the humble yet delicious Estate Trocken (“Fantastic brilliance”!) or the fiercely mineral and refined Oberhäuser Brücke Spätlese was THE Riesling that sparked their passion for German terroir (it’s a bit like drinking Alpine snow).

Despite their extensive lineup, there’s rarely a wine made here that isn’t the finest of its type and terroir each vintage.

Even the entry-level wines are nothing to shrug at, offering unrivalled complexity for a modest entry fee.
