Marietta

The late Chris Bilbro is a hero of California wine. He founded Marietta Cellars in 1978, growing it into one of the finest producers of value-driven California wines. Chris sadly passed away in 2019, and today his son, Scot Bilbro, runs the winery. The lineup is as good as it’s ever been: full of delicious, gutsy wines that over-deliver at all prices (that max out at a mere $40). If these had “Napa” on the label, you wouldn’t blink if these were triple the price.

Their entire range routinely receives the type of critical praise you’d expect from much more expensive wines. Given the state of the economy, we thought it the perfect time to remind you of the incredible value and drinkability of this excellent range of Marietta wines in stock and one sale starting now.

Cameron Winery Dundee Hills Chardonnay, Willamette Valley 2023 750ml $24 special, 36 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“Vinified from Abbey Ridge & Clos Electrique fruit, this is the best Chardonnay in its price range on the market. Lime leaf and orange blossom aromatics with a light touch of vanilla make me think of lemon tart! A lovely rich mouth with some tartness and a long, mineral finish allows it to be both an aperitif while you’re cooking and it will go with the meal afterward, though if you drink enough while you’re cooking, this latter point will be unimportant!”

Cameron Winery ‘Giovanni’ Pinot Blanc, Dundee Hill 2024 750ml $19 special, 24 bottles in stock now
VinopolNote:
When most people think of Willamette Valley white wines, they aren’t necessarily thinking of Pinot Blanc. Yet that has not prevented this wine from being one of our most requested wines every vintage. With juicy pear notes buoyed by awesome acidity and minerality, this wine is both a great wine for solo drinking and a great accompaniment with most cuisine.”

Cameron Winery ‘Supernatural’ Rouge de Gris, Dundee Hills 2023 750ml $36 special, 16 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“We start with Abbey Ridge Pinot Gris, which is farmed naturally without irrigation or noxious chemicals, throw the fruit into clay amphorae and allow it to do its thing naturally with wild ambient yeast. After fermentation is complete, we tighten down the amphorae lids and let it macerate for 6-7 weeks, then age the wine in neutral natural barrique for 18 months before bottling. And voila, we have Cameron Supernatural, a light red wine asking to be chilled and consumed au natural in the warm summer months!”

Cameron Winery Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2023 750ml $36 special, 26 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“[On last year’s cuvée] The ‘22 Dundee Hills blend includes fruit from Abbey Ridge and La Colina vineyards and punches well above its weight. Clean, dark and red fruit aromas and notes of black tea, earth, and allspice pair with a with subtle tannins and balanced acidity. This wine has a pleasant, round mouthfeel that may be thoughtfully quaffed or heartily slurped depending on the needs of the meal or the consumer.”

Cameron Winery Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge 2023 750ml $36 special, 20 bottles in stock now

“This may indeed be our juiciest Pinot Noir of the vintage. Comprised of fruit from Alan Foster’s White Oak vineyard, the 2023 Cameron Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir is super aromatic and loaded with ripe Pinot fruit framed by suave tannins. If Cameron’s Dundee Hills bottlings are not fruit-forward enough for you, this should do the trick!”
