Shipping Information, Rates & Policies

SHIPPING POLICY

Any wine sold to you by Vinopolis Wine Shop is sold in Oregon, and title passes to you, the buyer, in Oregon. The buyer is solely responsible for the ensuing shipment of wine. By placing any wine order with Vinopolis Wine Shop, you authorize Vinopolis Wine Shop to act on your behalf to arrange third party delivery of your order to your selected destination. We make no representations concerning your legal right to ship or receive wine into any state outside Oregon. The buyer is responsible for compliance with their State Laws regarding wine import and taxation. Our sales obligation is fulfilled when the purchase leaves our shop. Title to goods shipped has then passed to the buyer, and the buyer is responsible for risks of loss or damage in accordance with third party shipper policy and procedures. We would specifically point out to you that third party shippers not accept claims for climatic damages (heat or freezing). As interstate shipping laws are constantly changing, you may want to check with the appropriate agency in your state or county. See here for more.

Legal age requirement: Wines and other alcoholic beverages may be sold and delivered only to persons over the age of 21. When you buy from the Vinopolis Wine Shop website, you affirm that you are at least 21 years old. All alcoholic beverages that we ship on your behalf must be received and signed for by an adult of legal drinking age. We encourage you to deliver to a business address to reduce the likelihood of failed delivery. If the wine is returned to us for failure to provide positive proof of age, the customer is responsible for paying all related shipping charges.

Interstate shipping: Many states have laws prohibiting or severely restricting the shipment of wine into their states from elsewhere in the country. Therefore, unfortunately we are not able to ship wine to certain states.

Order processing time: Orders of “in stock” wines (as well as the “in stock” portion of orders that include both “in stock” and “pre-arrival” wines) are generally processed and shipped within 24 hours. Special shipping requests—including rush orders, requests to ship original wood cases, etc.—should be made by phone (preferred), email, or through the “special shipping instructions” field in the online checkout process.

Futures/pre-arrivals: Futures/pre-arrival wines are not available for immediate shipment; we can provide you with estimated arrival times for particular wines by phone (503-223-6002) or email. Shipping for futures/pre-arrivals is not charged at time of order, but is determined once the wine arrives at our store and we contact you for further instructions (including shipping address and method). We do not automatically ship out pre-arrival wines. We typically email you upon the wine’s arrival and will follow up by phone if we receive no response within a reasonable period of time.

Cancellation Policy: We will gladly attempt to work out order modifications to your satisfaction. However, outright cancellations in whole or part after order placement will be refunded at not more than 90% of purchase price.

Corked/Flawed Bottle Policy: We can accept returns for corked or flawed bottles at our discretion if the mostly full bottle is returned to the store within six months of the purchase date. We are unable to accept shipments of potentially corked or flawed bottles.

HOLDS FOR FUTURE SHIPPING

Buy now and hold your wine until it’s safe to ship! During checkout, select “Hold for Future Shipment” in the shipping options. You may schedule shipping in advance during the check out process or by email or phone (503-223-6002). Your wine will be held in the customer storage area of our climate-controlled store. No fees apply!

SHIPPING RATES

Estimated shipping rates are provided at checkout based on shipping address, shipping method, and number of bottles in your order. Note that quoted shipping rates are estimates, and actual shipping charges may differ based on factors which are not taken into account by our automated shipping estimator. Also, shipping charges for unusual bottle sizes cannot be accurately estimated in advance.

Flat Rate Shipping is available to Oregon, DC & California and is applied to single orders of any size shipped in full to a single delivery address. Later additions, multiple delivery addresses, held orders, multiple order consolidations, and later arriving pre-arrival orders will incur additional shipping charges. Offer does not apply to wine held in storage or multiple invoices consolidated into one shipment. Wine is shipped via Ground. Adult signature is required.
