Antinori Tignanello Toscana 2019 750ml $149 special, 12 bottles available
#5 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2022
Wine Spectator 96 Points “A supple, elegant red highlighted by bright cherry, black currant, violet, tobacco, iron and oak spice aromas and flavors. Though fluid and seemingly approachable now, this is well-structured and shows the balance to age. Fine length. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.”
Wine Advocate 96 Points “The Marchesi Antinori 2019 Tignanello was born in a classic growing season that saw some cooling summer rains and relatively stress-free conditions. This is an elegant and extremely polished wine made with mostly Sangiovese and smaller parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Here too, the small blending element of Cabernet Franc has been slowly increasing in recent years. The 2019 vintage was born with a good amount of power and tannic structure, and maceration times were slightly reduced as a result. This less extractive approach shapes a polished and elegant wine with plenty of bright berry fruit, cherry, dried mint, blue flower, blood orange and rusty earth. The palate is more compact and streamlined. It shows beautiful grace.”

Montevertine Le Pergole Torte 2019 750ml $249 special, 11 bottles available
Montevertine Le Pergole Torte 2019 1.5L $499 special, 1 bottle available
Vinous 97 Points “The 2019 Le Pergole Torte is all class and refinement. At the same time, the 2019 is quite reticent at this stage. In this tasting, the Pergole Torte comes across as more refined and aromatically expressive than the Montevertine, with lovely brightness driving the red berry fruit. Elegant and sophisticated, the 2019 is a wine to treasure for the next several decades. Time in the glass brings out the floral upper register and red Sangiovese fruit of Pergole Torte.”
Wine Advocate 97 Points “Holding back initially, this wine simply needs more time in bottle, and I have adjusted the drinking window accordingly. The 2019 Le Pergole Torte is a long-term proposition showing initial stirrings of tart cherry fruit, plum, licorice, tobacco and crushed stone. There is a pretty floral tone of violet or rosemary flower even now. Winemaking takes this special selection of 100% Sangiovese though cement and Allier and Slavonian oak. The balanced acidity stands out nicely. There are 29,000 bottles of the 2019 vintage, and I recommend you put yours in the cellar for five to 10 more years.”

Domaine Durand Saint Joseph “Les Coteaux” 2021 750ml $29 special, 36 bottles available*****Only listing in the USA today*****
Domaine Durand Cornas “Premices” 2020 750ml $35 special, 24 bottles available
Wine Spectator 93 Points
“Juicy and youthfully compact, with a core of red and black currant fruit that will need a little time to unfurl. Boasts a backdrop of dried anise and sweet tapenade, along with a refined iron note and a nicely poised finish. Best from 2024 through 2034. 900 cases made, 140 cases imported.”

Domaine Durand Cornas “Confidence” 2019 750ml $59 special, 36+ bottles available
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points
“Lastly, the 2019 Cornas Confidence is all Syrah that was 70% destemmed and spent 18 months in 30% new barrels. A classic wine from this estate, it brings tons of richness and depth in a pure, clean, quasi-modern style while still being pure Cornas to the core. Dark fruits, ground pepper, game, violets, and spice all give way to a full-bodied, wonderfully textured, balanced 2019 with the texture and balance to offer pleasure today yet also evolve for two decades.”
Wine Advocate 95 Points “The 2019 Cornas Confidence shows a bit of toasty oak up front (30% new wood is standard for this cuvée), then develops notes of crushed stone, red plums, mint, violets, cassis and raspberry sherbet. Full-bodied, velvety and long, it’s an intense, complex thrill ride of Cornas that just needs several years in the cellar. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.”
Wine Spectator 95 Points “Rich and juicy, particularly for Cornas, with waves of red currant and blackberry compote rolling through. There’s more defining chalk, savory and olive accents on the back end and a singed alder frame around it all. Needs a bit of time to finish knitting together, but this is very, very solid. Best from 2023 through 2036. 150 cases made, 50 cases imported.”

Gran Moraine Chardonnay 2019 750ml $48 special, 6 bottle available
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points “The 2019 Chardonnay Yamhill-Carlton is perfumed with opulent fruit, ripe melon, pine, and delicate oak spice. It has a rich texture, although it has tension and does not feel heavy at all. The palate is fresh with ripe green apple, lime blossom, and delicate oak spice. Drink 2024-2034.”

Marietta Cellars Arme Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 750ml $26 special, 18 bottles available
Wine Advocate 94 Points “The 2019 Armé Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium ruby-purple color and layered aromas of red and black currants, violet, iron, underbrush and mushrooms. The medium-bodied palate is pleasantly rustic and a touch chewy, with bright acidity, pretty floral perfume and an earth-laced finish.”

L’Hetre Raison D’Hetre Rouge 2016 750ml $18 special, 12 bottles available
Jancisrobinson.com “There is a second wine, Raison d’Hêtre, made from the younger vines and lower slopes. It’s a little lighter in body and tasted as if it had a little more of the Cabernets in the blend though the proportions are the same, but this was perhaps just slightly less ripe Merlot fruit.”

Goubau La Source Rouge 2015 750ml $18 special, 6 bottles available
Goubau La Source Rouge 2015 6 bottle case $99, that’s $16.5 per bottle
Winery note “The second wine of Chateau Goubau comes from the vineyard parcels facing south and south-west on the slopes bordering the domain’s natural source. Made from a blend of 95% Merlot grapes and 5% Cabernet Franc grapes, the wine is spicy and fresh with aromas of red fruits, plums and spice. On the palate the wine is crunchy and fruity with black fruit flavours and a touch of spice; the finish is lively and appealing. Drink now for next three years.”

Solitude Côtes Du Rhône 2020  12 bottle case $179 special, that’s $14.91 per bottle
James Suckling 92 Points
“Tons of black-cherry and ripe-blackberry fruit, but not a jot overripe. This is a bold and substantial wine for the appellation, thanks to the healthy dose of soft tannin. Plenty of licorice and spice, plus a hint of tar at the long finish. Carries 14% alcohol effortlessly! A GSM blend of 50% grenache, 40% syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. Drink now.”

2021 Garon CDR La Part Des Vivants  750ml $19 special, 23 bottles available
Importer’s Note “Domaine Garon is a traditional Cote Rotie producer. The grapes are crushed in whole bunches. The amount of destemming varies, depending on the vintage. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wines are aged in an average of 30% new, French oak barrels and the remainder is aged in 5 year old barrels for between 18 to 24 months.”

Loire

Eric Chevalier Chardonnay 2019 750ml $11.9 special, 30 bottles available

Huet Moelleux Haut Lieu 2016 750ml $39 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine Spectator 95 Points “Gorgeous crystallized ginger, dried quince, glazed pear and warm persimmon notes are seamlessly interwoven here, gliding through a lengthy finish that picks up a lilting green tea accent. Frankly off-dry but wonderfully pure. Drink now through 2035.”

Huet Vouvray Moelleux Clos Bourg 1er Trie 2016 $59 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine Spectator 96 Points “This is ripe and broad, taking a slightly more power-driven approach, with a mix of tropical mango and papaya fruit, backed by orchard fruit accents of yellow apple and peach. The long, heather honey–accented finish has light piecrust and crystalized ginger hints. Best from 2020 through 2035.”
Wine Advocate 94 Points “Huet’s bright golden colored 2016 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux Première Trie is clear, fresh and intensely fruity on the remarkably precise nose. Medium-bodied yet concentrated, elegant and sweet on the palate, this is a salty, piquant, mineral Chenin Blanc with intense, elegant and well-structured fruit. The wine reveals a chalky finesse and long tensioned finish. Bottled with 84 grams of residual sugar, this is still a pretty sweet but doubtlessly promising Vouvray.”

Huet Moelleux Le Mont 2016 750ml $49 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine Spectator 96 Points “Bright, even exuberant in feel, with a parade of Jonagold apple, green melon, Bosc pear and quince flavors streaming through, gilded with heather, honeysuckle and verbena notes on the long, lithe finish. Remarkably elegant despite the off-dry style.”

Huet Moelleux Le Mont Trie 2016 750ml $69 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2016 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux Première Trie opens with a very clear, deep and flinty/herbal bouquet of ripe concentrated stone fruits intermixed with chalky/smoky aromas, very complex and truly exciting! Light, fresh and tensioned on the palate, that is very pure and salty but also tight and concentrated. The 2016 Le Mont reveals crystalline acidity, delicate but serious tannin grip and a long, complex, stimulating finish. This is Chenin Blanc full of energy and aging potential, provided with concentration, lingering salinity and vibrancy. This is a fascinating Le Mont, surely the top wine of Huet’s excellent 2016 series. Bottled with 92 grams of residual sugar, it tastes less sweet than the corresponding Clos du Bourg.”
Wine Spectator 96 Points “Juicy in feel, with an intense beam of glazed peach, dried apricot, fresh ginger and heather honey notes, backed by baked mirabelle plum accents and a flash of almond cream on the long, rich finish. A wonderful balancing act, keeping the exotic fruit and sweetness fresh and delineated..”April Rosé Sale

Peyrassol Château Rose 2018 6L $319 special, 2 bottles available
Importer note
“This is the elite cuvée of the estate relying as it does on grapes harvested from the oldest vines of the domaine (35 years and older). Principally composed of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, the “Chateau” bottling also sees the addition, from time-to-time of Tibouren, the ancient and regal Provencale grape. This Rosé is produced via the “direct press” method and has a long cuvaison designed to produce a wine of character and concentration. Vinified in stainless steel and bottled in late winter – early spring, production is quite limited.”*****IN-STORE PICK UP ONLY. SHIPPING NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS WINE*****
Peyrassol Le Close Rose 2018 1.5L $69 special, 7 bottles available
Peyrassol Le Close Rose 2019 1.5L $79 special, 4 bottles available
Wine Advocate
“… [the 2019] offers up scents of crushed stone, garrigue, white peach and lime, all tinged with tart red berries. It’s medium-bodied on the palate, with a silky-wet stone feel and a lingering finish that seems to build in red fruit intensity while remaining citrusy and refreshing at the same time. One of the best wines in this year’s tasting… “

Ste Magdeleine Provence Rose 2020 750ml $23.50 special, 25 bottles available
Importer’s Note
The Cassis rosé gets the award for vines with the best view. Situated in Provence, perched on a limestone promontory that reaches right out into the blue Mediterranean, the vineyard gives us an aromatic, supple, dry rosé. Serve it with a bowl of black olives for the blend of flavors and colors.

Domaine Ott Chateau Romassan Bandol Rose 2021 750ml $54.50 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine & Spirits 96 Points
“Chateau Romassan sits at the foot of the hilltop village Le Castellet, a few miles north of the Bay of Bandol. The Otts rely on mourvedre for the bulk of their rose, this one includes 30 percent cinsault and 15 percent grenache), and, thought 2021 was another hot summer here, Romassan’s poor limestone and sandstone soils produced a deeply savory wine. This pale Bandol seems to have inhaled the local scrubland and seaside breezes, presenting that savory edge alongside husk cherry, grapefruit and pale melon flavors. Firm and versatile, it would pair nicely with anything from bouillabaisse to a Nicoise salad; or take it abroad alongside chicken yakitori.”

Domaine Charvin Côtes Du Rhône 2021 750ml $19 special, 13 bottles available
Importer’s Note “Pale orange. Expressive, spice-tinged red berry, blood orange and pit fruit aromas are accompanied by building mineral and floral nuances. Taut and energetic on the palate, offering intense strawberry, orange zest and lavender flavors that are braced by a spine of chalky minerality. Finishes very long and precise, with repeating red fruit and floral notes and firm, minerally tension.”

Luigi Giordano Nebbiolo Rosato DOC 2020 750ml $21.90 special, 4 bottles available
Importer’s Note
“100% Nebbiolo from family parcels inside Barbaresco crus of Ovello, Ronchi & Cars. Hand-picked in September. Soft pressing followed by 3-hour maceration. 2,400-bottle production.”

Burlotto Elatis Rosato 2021 750ml $24 special, 36+ bottles available
Vinous 91 Points “The nose shows ripe honeydew and crushed yellow apple with sweet herbs and smoky minerals. On the palate, the 2019 Burlotto Elatis Rosato coasts with ease. It is cool-toned and riding a core of vibrant acids, minerals, and citrus-tinged fruit.”

Keller Gruner Silvaner 2021 750ml $36 special, 1 bottle available
Stuart Piggott 91 Points
“The attractive yellow apple and green bean aromas are married to fine tannins and there is plenty of chalky character on the medium-bodied palate of this excellent “basic” dry Silvaner. From 35-45 year old vines in the Steingrübe vineyard of Westhofen on a chalky soil. Drink now.”

Keller Riesling Morstein GG Rheinhessen 2020 750ml $579 special, 2 bottles available
James Suckling 98 Points
“Extremely expressive nose with deep white-fruit, herbal and smoky aromas. Enormously concentrated, but very cool and pristine, thanks to the super-racy mineral acidity that gives the finish great power. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.”
Mosel Fine Wines 94+ Points “The 2020er Morstein Riesling, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a bone-dry wine made from 75-year-old vines and low yields (under 30 hl/ha) in one single old Fuder. It offers an aromatic, intense, and very complex nose of herbs, pineapple, grapefruit, mint, ginger, and a hint of camphor. The wine captures one’s attention as it proves hugely intense, compact, and dense on the palate. Notes of lemon and citrus are wrapped into plenty of spices and add to the feeling of razor-sharpness which emerges into the long and tight finish. There is also a light phenolic and powerful presence.”
