Cornas’ Hottest Wines?
Guillaume Gilles is a hot name in the Northern Rhone for good reason—he’s making some of the most exceptional bottles to come out of Cornas. That’s a big statement, but Gilles delivers, with an ultra-traditional, whole-cluster driven style that’s intensely influenced by his mentor, the legendary Robert Michel.

A vintage that Wine Spectator described as “textbook”, the growing season yielded wines of elegance, freshness and harmony. More red fruited than Brunello’s excellent 2015 vintage, but offering similar levels of concentration, these are wines that are drinking beautifully young but will also age beautifully.

The Mosel’s Most Underrated Village?

Graach Greatness from Willi Schaefer

Willi Schaefer, one of the Mosel’s most celebrated producers, is known for crafting wines that are approachable when young with beautiful fruit components. However, like all of the valley’s finest exports, they always impress with the ability to maintain vitality and finesse for 15+ years.

Graach, where today’s featured wines hail from, is one of the finest villages in the Mosel. It is home to beautifully exposed blue slate vineyards, and its wines often show more white and green fruit when compared to Wehlen or Piesport.
