Whites
An Alsatian-inspired blend that’s aromatic, dry, nutty and floral.
This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast!
Evesham Wood Blanc du Puits Sec, Eola-Amity Hills 2024 750ml Displayed Price: $19, that’s $18.05 at 5% off and $17.10 at 10% off, 22 bottles in stock now
Winery Notes “Our Pinot Noirs have always grabbed the headlines, but this white field blend from our certified organic Le Puits Sec estate vineyard has been here from the beginning. Old vine Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are co-fermented with our tiny plantings of Gruner Veltliner, Rieslaner, and Traminer. Sure, we’re biased, but the 2024 vintage of our Blanc is as good as it’s ever been–a powerful personality yet perfectly balanced.”
Zippy and bright, this Riesling-based combo is utterly addictive.
This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!
Goodfellow Family Cellars Whistling Ridge Vineyard Blanc, Ribbon Ridge 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $19, that’s $18.05 at 5% off and $17.10 at 10% off, 29 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “The Whistling Ridge Blanc is a field blend entirely of the vineyard. Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir are interplanted up at the vineyard, picked together, pressed, and fermented together in neutral oak (15-25 year old barrique) and small stainless drums. This wine is always unique and delicious. The 2023 Whistling Ridge Blanc is lean, zippy, fresh and floral, with stoniness and lime zest, and opening to white spring flowers, but still with that core of bright citrus & stone…. electric lime-aid at its best. Varietals: Riesling 64%, Pinot Noir 20%, Pinot Blanc 12%, Gewurztraminer 4% Whistling Ridge Vineyard, Ribbon Ridge Ava, Willamette Valley. Planted In 1990, Dry Farmed, Marine Sedimentary Soils. Elevage: 8 Months Neutral French Oak Barrique & Stainless Drum.”
Striking and elegant, this wine has an undeniable grace.
This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast!
Kelley Fox Wines Durant Vineyard Chardonnay, Dundee Hills 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $39, that’s $37.05 at 5% off and $35.10 at 10% off, 21 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “I love the Durant Chardonnay so much that when the opportunity arose in 2023 to increase its production, I jumped on it. The 2023 is a radiant, light sunshine yellow with shining, pale gold tones and is brilliantly transparent. The nose is very fresh and filled with layers of creamy citrus. The mouth continues the mixed citrus with some noticeable structure along with soft minerals and vanilla bean. The 2023 has beautiful texture and a lasting finish with a hint of pain grille that balances the fruit. Appellation: Dundee Hills A.V.A. Picking Date: 9 October 2023. Élevage: concrete amphora tanks. Bottling Date: 9 April 2024. Alcohol: 13.0 %. Cases Produced: (551) cases.”
Michael Etzel of Beaux Freres’ own estate has really come into its own, but we love that he’s branching out into the Chehalem Mountains.
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Sequitur “Non Sequitur” Chardonnay, Chehalem Mountains 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $51.90, that’s $49.31 at 5% off and $46.71 at 10% off, 9 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Sequitur’s first ever non-estate bottling, the Non-Sequitur Chardonnay is a great contrast to our estate. Grown in the Chehalem Mountains by Michael’s son Michael Jr., Non-Sequitur provides a direct connection to two generations of Etzels in a single bottle. Technical Information: Harvested on September 5th, the fruit was first crushed and then pressed into stainless. Allowed to brown completely with no sulfur added, the juice was first homogenized in stainless steel, brought to fermentation by the warmth of the sun, then barreled down to 50% new French oak for native fermentation. After 12 months in barrel, the wine was racked only once to stainless steel for 3 months, before being bottled in January 2025.”
Texture and nuance, this Pinot Blanc has depth and ageability.
This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast!
St. Innocent Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Blanc, Willamette Valley 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $27.50, that’s $26.13 at 5% off and $24.75 at 10% off, 7 bottles in stock now
Owen Bargreen 93 points “This 2022 edition of the Pinot Blanc is quite different than the warm vintage ’21 version. It also shows a beautiful texture and bright acidity but is a slight beat behind in weight and flavor range now in its development. Salted cantaloupe, baking spice dusted brioche bread and shades of cashew nut all combine on the palate. A stunning wine, this will deliver drinking enjoyment now and over the next eight plus years.”
”Extra Tan” indicates that Jim Maresh included botrytis-influenced grapes from harvest before fermenting the wine completely dry. It adds intriguing layers to the already incredible old-vine clones on one of the Dundee Hills’ world class vineyards.
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Tan Fruit Maresh Vineyard “Extra Tan” Chardonnay, Dundee Hills 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $79, that’s $75.05 at 5% off and $71.10 at 10% off, 30 bottles in stock now
James Suckling 97 points “This bone-dry chardonnay is crafted from cluster selection at Maresh Vineyard, with 50% of the grapes affected by botrytis, yet the influence remains subtle and clean. A broad spectrum of aromatics, with pink nectarines, white cherries and white pepper lifting from the glass. Big yet weightless, with a cloudy, almost ethereal presence. Structured, with subtle tannins and a solid mineral backbone. Long and massive, yet never heavy, with extra layers of depth. From old-vine Wente clone planted in 1983. Drink or hold.”
This pretty number has entered its drinking window, showing the rich complexity of Pinot Gris in expert hands.
This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!
Westrey Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $18, that’s $17.10 at 5% off and $16.20 at 10% off, 21 bottles in stock now
Decanter 93 points “A showy and opulent Pinot Gris with six years of bottle age, this wine defies expectations of simplicity for the variety aromatics of ripe stone fruits and dried white flowers with a hint of clover honey. The palate shows richness, honeyed peach and nectarine flesh, and dried notes of tarragon and mint offer complexity and freshness, showing the real ageability of this stalwart Willamette Valley varietal.”
Sparkling
The original winery of the Dundee Hills crafts a fun and crisp tank-fermented bubbles full of zippy fruit and herbal notes.
This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!
The Eyrie Vineyards ‘Spark’ Sparkling Rose, Willamette Valley NV 750ml Displayed Price: $19, that’s $18.05 at 5% off and $17.10 at 10% off, 20 bottles in stock now
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 90 points “The NV Spark is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 37% Chasselas Doré and 8% Pinot Blanc, from 31-year-old vines. It is an “ultra brut,” although this particular bottling is made using forced carbonation instead of méthode Champenois. Medium to deep cherry-pink in color, it has aromas of cantaloupe, strawberries, raspberries and lemon peel with notes of stone and toast. The palate is dry with citrus and red berry flavors, spritely mousse and a refreshing, mineral-driven finish.”
Rosé
Light and crisp, owner and winemaker Scott Frank knows how to make a pink you’ll want to jam to.
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Bow & Arrow Rosé of Gamay Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2024 750ml Displayed Price: $21.90, that’s $20.81 at 5% off and $19.71 at 10% off, 15 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “This year’s rosé is a short maceration of Gamay from the organically farmed Rooker Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Natural as can be! It’s a stainless steel fermented study on wet rocks and perhaps a border skirmish between watermelon Jolly Ranchers and Grapefruit Jarritos. Unyeasted, unfiltered, unfined and unmanipulated. Only made in years that lend themselves to making quality rose. Our smallest production.”
Gorgeous and well-appointed, we prefer Goodfellow wines with a little time in the bottle. This 2023 is in its prime.
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Goodfellow Family Cellars Rosé of Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $18, that’s $17.10 at 5% off and $16.20 at 10% off, 29 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Peach blossoms, wild strawberries, star fruit, green melon, light florals. This is very pretty in the nose, light bodied with plenty of flavor, and brightly refreshing to drink. The bottle disappears quickly. Perfect for sunny days watching the hummingbirds, grilling chicken, and sushi. 82% direct press from the blanc de noir program and 18% saignee from 100% whole cluster ferments of Whistling Ridge and Durant. 12.3% abv and 266 cases produced.”
One of the few examples of Spain’s Tempranillo wines, this is a winner every year.
This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!
Illahe Estate Tempranillo Rosé, Willamette Valley 2024 750ml Displayed Price: $21.90, that’s $20.81 at 5% off and $19.71 at 10% off, 13 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Oregon’s best rosé of tempranillo is ready to delight again after its trip through stainless tanks and neutral oak barrels. This year’s offering has notes of strawberry, blood orange, guava, mango, and watermelon rind with crisp, refreshing acidity. It is produced in 25% neutral barrel, 75% stainless steel, and directly pressed. The acidity keeps this wine fresh and alive, but the barrel fermentation helps to balance the mouth and keep it rich.”
Pinot Noirs
Composed of some of the oldest Pinot vines in the Dundee Hills, this gem is wildly underpriced and quite possibly the best value in this entire sale.
Arterberry Maresh Old Vines Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $54.50, that’s $51.78 at 5% off and $49.05 at 10% off, 25 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 94 points “The 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Old Vines is remarkably pretty, cascading up from the glass with a vibrant blend of minty herbs and crushed cherries complemented by hints of cola and spice. This has energy to spare, silken in feel with ripe red berry fruits that envelop the senses. It takes on a darker shade toward the close as tactile minerals saturate. A bump of juicy acidity enlivens the finish as sweet tannins tug at the senses and notes of blood orange slowly fade. The 2022 is like a well-muscled dancer. It’s already so likable that many collectors may not have the patience to watch it fully mature. The Dundee Hills Old Vines is sourced from vines that average 41 years old, all Pommard clones, sourced from 75% Maresh and 25% Weber Vineyard.”
Led by biodynamic pioneer Doug Tunnell, the Les Dijonnais bottling explores the Dijon clones of the estate planted in 1995. It’s a floral and densely spiced wine with a dash of new oak for seamless style.
Brick House Vineyards ‘Les Dijonnais’ Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 15 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 94 points “Sweetly spiced, the 2022 Pinot Noir Les Dijonnais opens with an intoxicating bouquet of cedar spice box, incense, clove and black cherry. This is juicy in character, silky-smooth and complex, with vividly ripe red berry fruits and rosy inner florals accelerated by brilliant acidity. It finishes with admirable length, subtly tannic yet focused, leaving a tart cranberry concentration and a flourish of minerality that keeps the mouth watering for more. Fantastic.”
Crowley flies under-the-radar in the national press, but has ample presence on wine lists in the city. We adore the La Colina bottling, with its dark mineral and subtle berry notes. It ages gracefully but only if you can keep your hands off it.
This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!
Crowley La Colina Vineyard Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 10 bottles in stock now
Michael Alberty-Wine Enthusiast 95 points “Match this winemaker with Dundee Hills fruit and magic happens. The La Colina grabs you by the lapels with its aromas of black cherries, watermelon, rye bread and the saline quality of a fresh-shucked oyster. Bing cherries mingle with dark chocolate and dried cranberries on the medium-bodied palate, ably supported by a mix of jangly acidity and silky tannins.”
Without Cristom’s influence, Oregon might not be known for its single-vineyard Pinot Noirs. This is a must for any fan of the Valley, if only to better understand the wines that have inspired dozens of current WV winemakers.
Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $79, that’s $75.05 at 5% off and $71.10 at 10% off, 6 bottles in stock now
Owen Bargreen 95 points “The 2022 ‘Louise’ was given 58% whole cluster fermentation. The site is usually picked a touch on the earlier side to harness the tannins of the Pinot Noir at this eastern-aspect location. Black florals and seaweed combine with shades of black licorice on the nose. The palate is plush and refined with serious weight and tension. Rich and refined, with serious texture and mouth-watering acidity, this really needs another year of bottle age to come together–but you can see the potential!”
Roserock is DDO’s Eola-Amity project, bringing their Burgundian know-how to the complex terroirs of this idyllic region. Zephirine is a barrel selection of their best and worthy of a cherished place in your cellar.
Domaine Drouhin Roserock Zephirine Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $64.50, that’s $61.28 at 5% off and $58.05 at 10% off, 24 bottles in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 97 points “A richer red hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Zephirine Roserock is also more floral and has some savory elements, but it also has a more pronounced dark stone mineral tone, with violets, black raspberries, tea leaf, and toasted spices. Medium-bodied, it’s ripe but has fantastic linear drive through its floral-noted finish, and the lift almost suggests whole cluster, yet it’s entirely destemmed. Drink it over the next 15 or more years.”
Best known for their cool-climate Cali wines, Failla works with the famous Seven Springs Vineyard to craft this delight. The 2021 is charming and graceful from a year that saw summer heat waves tempered by a long and cool harvest. The wine is impactful and powerful, but ready to compliment your next cookout.
This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast!
Failla Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 13 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Aromatically the wine has notes of bramble, tart blackberry, cigar box, Asian spice, and black tea compliment a balanced tannin structure. This wine will age in a cellar for years to come. On the palate, there is a hint of riper fruit flavors, as well as restrained tannins that showcase just how cellar-worthy this bottle is.”
Wineries like Hundred Suns are why we love the Valley: Renée Saint-Amour and Grant Coulter, owners and winemakers, bring energy and passion that is palpable in the wines. There’s never a lack of easy-drinkability, but the charm draws you in to the hidden depths. The Bednarik is the most acid-driven of their Pinots, supported by the power and character of the old, ungrafted vines.
Hundred Suns Bednarik Vineyard Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 17 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “One of our perennial favorites, this old, own-rooted site shows aromas of sour cherry, hibiscus tea, and tangerine. The palate of pure red fruit and the spine of tannins from marine sedimentary soils make this wine both serious and playful. Rooted in marine sedimentary soil deep in the cool coastal foothills, this 6-acre, own-rooted vineyard was planted in 1988 by William Bednarik to Pommard and Wädenswil clones of Pinot Noir. A late flowering and the cool conditions of this special site led us to pick this fruit almost two weeks after all our other pinot sites. The extended hang time created a stunning wine with pure Mt. Hood strawberries, cranberry sauce, and fresh, silky tannins. Fermented with natural yeast and bottled unfined and unfiltered.”
This is Jay Somer’s 29th vintage working with these vines. He is probably still best known as the former owner and winemaker of J. Christopher, but his J.C. Somers winery brings that experience to new heights. Co-owned with his longtime partner and wife, Ronda Newell-Somers, this project focuses even more succinctly on the great vineyards of the Valley.
This is the only listing in the USA today!
J.C. Somers Abbey Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $61.90, that’s $58.81 at 5% off and $55.71 at 10% off, 3 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “I have worked with Abbey Ridge since 1993 (while at Adelshiem) and in 1994 with Cameron Winery. In 2001, I was lucky to be offered a block of Pinot Noir at Abbey Ridge and have been working with the fruit ever since. Abbey Ridge is the cornerstone to our Pinot Noir program and I believe it to be the best Pinot Noir site in the Willamette Valley. Owned by my friends Bill and Julia Wayne, this vineyard is the platonic form of what the Dundee Hills AVA is all about – elegance. We have 2.5 acres of the Coury Clone Pinot Noir.”
Purple Hands is raking in points with a string of recent vintages. If you’re new to the winery, Freedom Hill is a perfect entry point. An exceptional vineyard planted in 1982, this bottling will knock your socks off.
Purple Hands Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $69, that’s $65.55 at 5% off and $62.10 at 10% off, 6 bottles in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 97 points “A richer reflective ruby hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard is a savory wine with notes of wet stones, graphite, pine, fresh black cherries, mixed berries, and tea leaf. It is very appealing on the palate early on. with refined tannins and a juicy feel. It’s very attractive now, and it’s not going to slow down any time soon. Drink 2024-2040.”
White Walnut Estate Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $48, that’s $45.60 at 5% off and $43.20 at 10% off, 10 bottles in stock now
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 92-94 points “Still in barrel, the 2023 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is bursting with a well of blueberry and black cherry, revealing wafts of aniseed, bitters and floral perfume as it opens in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is powerfully styled, pairing concentrated, floral fruit with chalky tannins and mouthwatering acidity, and it has a long, latent finish.”
Other Reds
No one does refreshing varietal wines in the Valley quite like Brad McLeroy of Ayres. His fun and relaxed personality hides a pro at the top of his game, but one happy to share in the delights of his craft. This Gamay is darkly-inflected with crunchy acidity and a wickedly delicious blend of spice and berries.
Ayres Vineyard Gamay Noir, Chehalem Mountains 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $21.90, that’s $20.81 at 5% off and $19.71 at 10% off, 23 bottles in stock now
VinopolNote: Brad McLeroy makes some of our favorite refreshing varietal wines form the Willamette Valley, and his prices always seem just a touch lower than we’d expect. This dry-farmed Gamay is mineral-driven with a crunchy acidity. Classic and refreshing, it does well with a light chill.
We’d be remiss in not mentioning our favorite Rogue, er, Rogue Valley winery, that is. Full-time physician Dr. Peter Adesman and his wife, Dr. Robin Miller, grow a diverse selection of grapes and take their inspiration from across France. The resulting wines are enjoyable and approachable, both in terms of drinkability and cost.
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Peter William Vineyard PWV ‘Les Candives’ Reserve Red, Rogue Valley 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $36, that’s $34.20 at 5% off and $32.40 at 10% off, 9 bottles in stock now
Norm Roby-Wine Review Online 94 points “Of the three Syrahs made by this winery in 2018, this one is 100% Syrah made from the estate vineyard and aged entirely in French oak, 50% new. To distinguish it from the others, the winery went with the “Candives” name, said to be an alternate name for Syrah used in the tiny village of Chavanay in the Northern Rhone Valley. As fine as the other 2018s are, this is so dark, dense, and dramatic that the special name is certainly merited. Loaded with ripe black fruit, it also has layers of spice, hints of clove and violets, light leather, toast, and pepper that evolve in the glass. Ultra smooth and seamless, it is beautiful now but will also bring rewards with cellaring.”
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Peter William Vineyard PWV ‘Extravagance’ Proprietary Reserve Red, Rogue Valley 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $39, that’s $37.05 at 5% off and $35.10 at 10% off, 15 bottles in stock now
Michael Alberty-Wine Enthusiast 90 points “This is a 50-50 Syrah-Tempranillo blend where the Syrah is co-fermented with 3% Viognier. It is packed with concentrated blackberry and balsamic aromas and flavors. The tiniest notes of orange blossom and lemon add contrast, and the wine’s thick texture is matched with grippy tannins.”
This is the only listing in the USA today!
Peter William Vineyard PWV Lot B-42 Reserve Syrah, Rogue Valley 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $38, that’s $36.10 at 5% off and $34.20 at 10% off, 12 bottles in stock now
Wine Enthusiast 92 points “Briary black fruits are backed by a toasted cashew note in this rich red. The overall balance is spot-on, with ample acidity and tannins but nothing dominating. Drink this supple and tasty wine through 2026.”
