The Eyrie Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2017 750ML ($36.95) $33 special
James Suckling 94 points
“A blend of all five Eyrie sites, this gives a gauge on the 2017 harvest here, as one that delivered fresh and complex style. Red-cherry, raspberry, blueberry and leafy aromas with gently earthy and spicy tones in equal measure. The palate has a very smooth core of fleshy red-cherry flavors and carries a velvety tannin texture long and fresh. Seriously complex pinot. Drink or hold.”
Note: the winery has dramatically redesigned the label in the 2017 vintage.

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Cameron’s 2018 Single Vineyards

What’s the most anticipated Willamette Valley release in our shop? Cameron Winery’s single vineyard bottlings. This is one of our favorite offers of the year, and for good reason—Cameron makes some of the most profound wines in the Willamette Valley and their single vineyard Pinot and Chardonnay are the pinnacle of their yearly releases.  These 2018 are among the best we’ve ever tasted from Cameron and winemaker/owner John Paul is (somehow) more excited than we’ve seen him in years.

2016 Muga Reserva is Landing Tomorrow!

Muga is considered one of the finest old producers of Rioja, combining a traditionalist approach with modern cellar techniques.  Up and down the line, their wines offer tremendous value—these are wines that will age into dynamic, complex beauties, but are delicious today.

Bodegas Muga Reserva, Rioja DOCa 2016 750ML ($31.95) $26 pre-arrival special
James Suckling 95 points
“This is really tight and powerful with gorgeous tannins and solid fruit. Full body. Tight and composed. Wet earth, smoked meat and hints of black truffles. Very long and powerful.

2016 Cantina del Pino

Arriving Late January

Cantina del Pino produces wines that help define Barbaresco and are admired by reviewers – Antonio Galloni notes that “not only were the wines from Cantina del Pino among the standouts of my tastings they also happen to be among the best values in Barbaresco.”  Run by Renato Vacca until his recent passing (cousin to Aldo Vacca who runs the Produttori), the is a small producer solely focused on top-end quality from some of the most interesting vineyards in the village.

The three crus that the Cantina is famous for are Ovello, Albesani and Gallina (of which only Ovello is made by the Produttori) and all show the brilliant fruit, dazzling complexity and polish that the Cantina del Pino is famous for.
