Champagne
Andre Clouet Silver Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature, Champagne NV 3L Displayed Price: $299, that’s $284.05 at 5% off and $269.10 at 10% off, 12 double-magnums in stock now
Stephan Reinhardt-Wine Advocate 92+ points “[Reviewed Apr 2021] Clouet’s NV Silver Brut Nature Grand Cru is a pure Bouzy Pinot Noir that was disgorged without any dosage. This disgorgement displays a medium intense golden color and a complex and refined bouquet of ripe and pureed apples and discreet chalky as well as brioche aromas. The palate is elegant, straight and fresh, very pure and salty on the finish. This is a challenging Brut Nature that needs to be aged for two or three years to gain complexity and finesse and to smooth its current edges. The finish is mineral, limestone and salty but also a bit drying at this moment.”
This is the only listing in the USA today for the three-liter!
Christophe Baron ‘Les Hautes Blanches Vignes’ Brut Nature, Champagne 2019 1.5L Displayed Price: $269, that’s $255.55 at 5% off and $242.10 at 10% off, 4 magnums in stock now
James Suckling 95 points “Very creamy and focused Champagne with notes of cherry blossoms, jasmine, pink grapefruit, white peaches, fennel and brioche. It’s medium-bodied with a very fine and delicate mousse that dances across the palate. Bone dry with beautiful balance and length. 100% pinot meunier from a vineyard planted in 1969. From organically grown grapes. In magnums only. Zero dosage. Disgorged May 2023. Drink or hold.”

Diebolt-Vallois Blanc de Blancs Brut, Champagne NV 1.5L Displayed Price: $99, that’s $94.05 at 5% off and $89.10 at 10% off, 3 magnums in stock now
Winery Note “Lively and elegant champagne, perfect as an aperitif or at the beginning of the meal. Varieties used: 100% Chardonnay, Blanc de Blancs. Terroir: Cuis, Chouilly, Epernay and young vines from Cramant. Vinification: Fermentation in thermostatically controlled vats. Blend of wines from two years. Dosage: 3-5 g/l.”

Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Blanc de Blancs Cuis Premier Cru Brut, Champagne NV 1.5L Displayed Price: $159, that’s $151.05 at 5% off and $143.10 at 10% off, 3 magnums in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 91 points “[Reviewed Nov 2023] The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuis 1er Cru (2020 base) sizzles with energy. White flowers, chalk, mint, white pepper, green pear and lime all race across the palate. Medium in body and finely cut, the 1er Cru is a jewel of a wine. It will appeal most to readers who enjoy taut, airy Blancs de Blancs.” [Disgorgement and base year may vary]
Frederic Savart L’Ouverture Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru Brut, Champagne NV 1.5L Displayed Price: $159, that’s $151.05 at 5% off and $143.10 at 10% off, 3 magnums in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 92 points “[Disgorgement may vary] The NV Extra-Brut L’Ouverture is 100% Pinot Noir, base 2020 with 25% reserve wines each from 2019 and 2018. Crushed red berry fruit and white flowers lend notable brightness throughout. This nervy, taut Champagne is all class. Dosage is 3.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: January 2023. (Drink between 2023-2030).”

Burgundy & Beaujolais
Bessin-Tremblay Valmur, Chablis Grand Cru 2022 1.5L Displayed Price: $199, that’s $189.05 at 5% off and $179.10 at 10% off, 2 magnums in stock now
Burghound 94 points “A touch of matchstick character lurks in the background of the mostly white orchard fruit aromas that are liberally laced with hints of iodine, oyster shell and quinine. The exceptionally rich, even lush, larger-bodied flavors also brim with sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the firm acid spine shaping the powerful and impressively long finale. This beauty has everything it needs for a long life and I would add that it’s going to need at least 5 to 7 years first as it’s quite tightly wound today. (Drink starting 2032).”

Domaine Michel Juillot Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2016 1.5L Displayed Price: $289, that’s $274.55 at 5% off and $260.10 at 10% off, 7 magnums in stock now
Burghound 91 points “Generous wood dominates the otherwise fresh green apple, pear and white flower scents. There is ample minerality on the solidly dense and relatively powerful medium weight flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel that contrasts markedly with the powerful and impressively long finish where the wood is again quite prominent. I can’t say that the style appeals to me as the wood is more than I prefer but this should still make for fine drinking in a few years time.”

Domaine Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Blanc 2022 1.5L Displayed Price: $125, that’s $118.75 at 5% off and $112.50 at 10% off, 2 magnums in stock now
“The 2022 Marsannay Blanc is a blend of several parcels. It was fairly reduced on the nose when I encountered it. The palate is more promising much more finely balanced with perfectly judged acidity, tangible mineralité, and a delicacy on the finish that I appreciate. Give it 12 months once in bottle.” -Neal Martin-Vinous

Louis Jadot Chateau des Jacques Moulin-a-Vent Clos du Grand Carquelin 2022 1.5L Displayed Price: $99, that’s $94.05 at 5% off and $89.10 at 10% off, 3 magnums in stock now
Winery Note “A few steps away from the windmill itself, and separated from the la Roche vineyard by a small road, the Clos du grand Carquelin faces a little bit more towards the south and offers a different personality. Here the soil is made of granitic sands and is deeper (60m) and more clayish…The Clos du Grand Carquelin is a particularly complex, delicate and elegant wine. It is appealing, lively and opens nicely once in a glass. This cru Beaujolais is a nice companion to delicately flavoured dishes.”

Bordeaux
Chateau Angelus, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2016 1.5L Displayed Price: $899, that’s $854.05 at 5% off and $809.10 at 10% off, 13 magnums in stock now
Wine Enthusiast 100 points “Top 100 Cellar Selection in 2019. This is a rich, perfumed wine, with dense tannins and intense layers of black plum and spice. The palate is firmly built yet broadened out by plump dark-fruit tones and honed by a solid, dry core. Drink from 2025. -Roger Voss”

Jonathan Didier Pabiot Pouilly-Fume ‘Leon’ 2021 1.5L Displayed Price: $69, that’s $65.55 at 5% off and $62.10 at 10% off, 4 magnums in stock now
“The 2021 Léon accounts for most of the domaine’s production (70%). It has a bright, gooseberry and elderflower-like character. Fermented partially in concrete (40%), stainless steel (40%) and barrel (20%), it has a silky charm while remaining light-bodied. This is a really lively number that has charm and brightness. Very easy to like, made with a delicate hand.” -Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous

Delas Freres Hermitage Les Bessards 2019 1.5L Displayed Price: $449, that’s $426.55 at 5% off and $404.10 at 10% off, 4 magnums in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 99 points “My favorite release from this estate is consistently their Les Bessards Hermitage, and their 2019 is no exception. Coming from the western part and pure broken granite soils on the west side of this magical hill, it sports a dense purple hue to go with a brilliant perfume of cassis, graphite, scorched earth, burning embers, spring flowers, and peppery herbs. Incredibly complex, layered, and nuanced, with classic Hermitage characteristics, it still stays firmly planted in the ripe, sunny, sexy vintage. Full-bodied, concentrated, and structured on the palate, it has a wealth of tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. This is pure Hermitage magic that needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years and will evolve for 20-30 years in cold cellars. Hats off to the team at Delas for another incredible wine.”

Emmanuel Darnaud Crozes-Hermitage Au Fil du Temps 2018 1.5L Displayed Price: $89, that’s $84.55 at 5% off and $80.10 at 10% off, 5 magnums in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 94 points “More chocolatey black and blue fruits, violets, damp earth, and bouquet garni-like notes emerge from the 2018 Crozes-Hermitage Au Fil Du Temps. This rich, powerful, full-bodied Crozes shows the classic balance, elegance, and purity that are present in all of Emmanuel’s wines. With plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe, mouth-coating tannins, and outstanding length, this brilliant effort will keep for 10-15 years.”

Domaine Eric et Joel Durand Cornas Empreintes 2019 1.5L Displayed Price: $99, that’s $94.05 at 5% off and $89.10 at 10% off, 4 magnums in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 95 points “Iron, peppered game, smoked black and blue fruits, and new leather notes emerge from the 2019 Cornas Empreintes, and it’s medium to full-bodied and wonderfully balanced, with ripe tannins and one hell of a great finish. It’s another pure, balanced, fruit-loaded beauty from this estate that has tons of character. This cuvée comes from hillside parcels (a mix of granite and limestone) and 30-year-old vines. It was 75% destemmed and spent a year in 20% new barrels.”

Chateau de Saint Cosme Les Deux Albion, Côtes du Rhône 2020 1.5L Displayed Price: $39, that’s $37.05 at 5% off and $35.10 at 10% off, 19 magnums in stock now
Wine Spectator 92 points “Ripe and polished yet fresh, this red seduces with ripe, generous anise, vanilla-laced blackberry and cherry flavors, then turns dark and brooding on the palate, with smoldering iron, garrigue, menthol, black pepper and dark earth notes framed by fine-grained tannins. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Clairette. Drink now through 2027”

Chateau de Saint Cosme Gigondas 2018 1.5L Displayed Price: $79, that’s $75.05 at 5% off and $71.10 at 10% off, 15 magnums in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 93 points “Moving to the wines from bottle, the base Gigondas from this estate is a perennial winner and readers can safely buy bottles of this in just about every vintage. Giving up a Provençal bouquet of red and black currants, peppery herbs, leather, and loamy soil, the 2018 is medium to full-bodied, has a forward, sexy style, no hard edges, and a great finish. It’s terrific today yet still has enough tannins to evolve for 10-15 years if you’re so inclined.”

Chateau de Saint Cosme Gigondas 2021 1.5L Displayed Price: $99, that’s $94.05 at 5% off and $89.10 at 10% off, 34 magnums in stock now
Wine Spectator 94 points “Powerful, with steeped plum and cherry coulis merging with potpourri and charred garrigue on a ripe, lush palate. Packs a wall of iron that provides a ballast for the ripe fruit, while refined tannins build in intensity. Long and complex, with a gorgeous expression of place. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Drink now through 2040.”

Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau 2018 1.5L Displayed Price: $199, that’s $189.05 at 5% off and $179.10 at 10% off, 11 magnums in stock now
James Suckling 96 points “Traditionally dominated by clairette (45%) and grenache blanc (30%), then roussanne and bourboulenc. The vines average 50+ years and there’s a very restrained nose with dialed-back white-pear and chalk aromas with dried flowers, too. The palate has a super fresh, zippy feel and a long, juicy and attractive core of fresh, salty minerals. The balance is innate and very fluid. Drink or hold.”

Provence
Peyrassol ‘Le Clos’ Rosé, Côtes de Provence 2021 1.5L Was $119, Displayed Price: $99, that’s $94.05 at 5% off and $89.10 at 10% off, 10 magnums in stock now
Josh Raynolds-Vinous 94 points “Vivid onion skin color. A highly perfumed and complex bouquet evokes fresh citrus and pit fruits, strawberry and pungent flowers, along with building mineral and succulent herb elements. Shows excellent clarity and depth to its juicy red fruit, nectarine and mango flavors, which are sweetened by a background of vanilla note. Finishes impressively long and silky, with the mineral and floral note resonating. “

Domaine Tempier Bandol ‘Lulu & Lucien’, Provence 2022 1.5L Displayed Price: $135, that’s $128.25 at 5% off and $121.50 at 10% off, 3 magnums in stock now
Winery Note “The Estate’s prominent cuvée blends the discrete strength of Bandol with the elegance and finesse which characterize Tempier. This complexity is a result of different terroirs of the estate and the variety of its clay-limestone soil located around the Estate but also in La Cadière, Sainte Anne d’Evenos, and Ollioules. There are sandy marls, limestone greseux from santonien, rudist limestone and recent barely deep horizons of colluvions. Plus, there are various sun or wind exposures. Composition: Mourvèdre (~ 75%) with Grenache and Cinsault and a smaller proportion of Carignan and Syrah. Average age of the vines: 35 – 40 years.”

Rosé of the Day
Arnot-Roberts
“Arnot-Roberts has become a leading force in producing understated, charming wines from some of California’s most prized vineyard sources.” –Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate
Arnot-Roberts has been one of the vanguard producers of the “New California” movement, making wines that deserve to be paid attention to as some of the best in the United States. Started by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts in 2001, they’ve quickly established themselves as some of the best producers of restrained, elegant California wines.
Their rosé is sourced from two vineyards in California in the Sierra Foothills and Clear Lake AVA’s. Comprised of a mix of French and Portuguese varietals and fermented separately, there’s a palate friendly juxtaposition of tropical fruits like guava in addition to a dried strawberry and raspberry tea element. The naturally low ABV makes it almost too drinkable, especially with food.
In Stock Now:
Arnot-Roberts Rosé, California 2023 750ml $26 special, 10 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 91 points “The 2023 Rosé is an unusual blend of Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Grenache and Tina Coa. Effusive, broad aromatics and lovely mid-palate depth make for an intriguing yet quirky Rosé that offers too much versatility. Wildflowers, blood orange, mint, rose petals and kirsch are some of the many nuances that build in this striking, wonderfully inviting Rosé from Arnot Roberts.”
Arnot-Roberts Rosé, California 2024 750ml $26 special, 24 bottles in stock now
Winemaker’s Note “We began making Rosé from Touriga Nacional in 2010. We were compelled by the grape’s deep color, brilliant acidity and aromatic complexity even at low sugar content. Touriga is a late-ripening Portuguese variety that needs some heat to mature, and we have sought out vineyards suited to this hearty variety.”
