All of Molitor’s estate level wines on sale now!
We’re taking things back to where the Molitor obsession often begins: the wines without asterisks—Molitor’s entry-level bottlings that deliver some of the most outrageous value in the entire Mosel. These are the wines that remind you why Markus Molitor is considered one of Germany’s greats. Same legendary vineyards, same meticulous handwork, same precision in the cellar—just in a more approachable, everyday-friendly package.
Don’t let the lack of stars fool you. Molitor’s “no-asterisk” Rieslings are crafted with the exacting detail he brings to his top wines, but they show a brighter, more immediate side of the Mosel. Crisp orchard fruit, shimmering slate, vibrant acidity—these are pure, expressive, wildly drinkable Rieslings that offer benchmarks of the region without the lofty price tag. They’re the kinds of bottles you open on a Tuesday night and think, “How is this entry-level?”
The value here is honestly hard to overstate. In a world where Mosel pricing continues to climb, Molitor’s first-tier wines remain refreshingly affordable. They offer a direct line into his stylistic brilliance—clarity, lift, mineral precision—at prices that let you stock up without hesitation. For many fans (and more than a few sommeliers), these are the sleeper hits of the entire portfolio.
If you’ve ever wanted to explore Molitor’s universe without diving straight into the deep end, this is your perfect on-ramp. These wines overdeliver, outperform, and outshine just about anything in their category. A true gift to Mosel lovers—and an easy win for your cellar.
Capsule Color: White capsule wines are made in a dry tasting style, with imperceptible residual sugar and lean mineral intensity. Green capsules reflect what Germans refer to as a ‘feinherb’ or just slightly off-dry style, usually with 15-20g or more of residual sugar per liter. This is probably the most classical of all Mosel wine styles, where the sugar and acid interplay is so delicate and balanced that the overall taste is dizzyingly complex. Lastly, gold capsules indicate a truly off-dry and fruity style of Riesling with lush concentration and a fruit spectrum that spans all the way from orchard to tropical. All three of these styles can age beautifully for many years.

Markus Molitor Alte Reben Saar Riesling WK 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $29, that’s $27.55 at 5% off and $26.10 at 10% off, 8 bottles in stock now Stephan Reinhardt-Wine Advocate 93 points “Molitor’s 2019 Alte Reben Saar opens with a pure and concentrated flinty bouquet of crushed slate and lemon zest as well as floral aromas. Round, lush and with salty piquancy as well as fine and juicy fruit concentration that intermingles perfectly with the finessed acidity and mineral backbone, this is an excellent and highly stimulating picture-book Saar Riesling with a delicate grip of slate and tannins. Perhaps the finest Saar old-vines Riesling I have had from Molitor. Tasted in May 2021.”
Markus Molitor Alte Reben Saar Riesling WK 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $29, that’s $27.55 at 5% off and $26.10 at 10% off, 8 bottles in stock now Stephan Reinhardt-Wine Advocate 92+ points “The 2018 Riesling Alte Reben Saar offers a clear, pure and spicy, quite deep and intense bouquet with slatey pastry notes. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a complex, elegant and long yet still slightly astringent Riesling with enormous power and richness. The wine has a positive astringency that is crystalline and phenolic and asks for patience. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.”
Markus Molitor Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett WK 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $26, that’s $24.70 at 5% off and $23.40 at 10% off, 12 bottles in stock now Stephan Reinhardt-Wine Advocate 92 points “The 2019 Graacher Domprobst Kabinett (White Capsule) is deep, elegant and flinty on the perfectly ripe and typically Graach-fruity nose with its lush and ripe stone-fruit aromas. Water matters in a dry year such as 2019, and the Domprobst has lots of it. Dense, piquant and mouth-filling on the palate, the wine reveals an edgy slate structure that will soften with bottle age. I recommend cellaring the wine for at least another year. The finish is vibrantly fresh and salty yet still tannic. 10.5% alcohol. Tasted in May 2021.”
Markus Molitor Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spatlese WK 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $31.90, that’s $30.30 at 5% off and $28.71 at 10% off, 16 bottles in stock now Decanter 93 points “Here we jump to an iconic Saar site, defined by Devonian slate, greywacke, some quartzitic sandstone and steepness. Wet stone, white currant, yellow apple and some lemon combine in a lovely vision of freshness. This is bright but even in this iconic Saar vineyard the warmth of 2018 is apparent. Yet the stoniness cuts through and leaves us with that lovely, racy zestiness we all crave from Riesling. These citrus notions linger and will you to take another sip. Wonderful.”
Markus Molitor Saarburger Rausch Riesling Spatlese WK 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $29.50, that’s $28.02 at 5% off and $26.55 at 10% off, 7 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 93 points “The 2019 Saarburger Rausch Spätlese (White Capsule) is intense and crunchy-slatey on the piquant and characterful nose that reveals ripe fruit and stony/herbal notes. Salty, piquant and highly stimulating on the palate, this is a dense, perfectly ripe and juicy Riesling with salty-crystalline acidity and a salivating finish that also reveals delicate tannins. This is another excellent, terroir-driven Riesling with fully ripe and generous yet structured fruit. Tasted in May 2021.”
Markus Molitor Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett Green 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $28, that’s $26.60 at 5% off and $25.20 at 10% off, 21 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 94+ points “Molitor’s 2019 Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett (Green Capsule) opens pure and flinty on the deep and complex, very intense yet bright and fascinating, seductive and terroir-driven nose. Lush and round on the palate yet with salty-piquant and vibrantly fresh acidity, this is a structured, even somewhat tannic Kabinett to cellar for at least 2-3 more years. Very long and endlessly salty. Tasted in May 2021.”
Markus Molitor Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett WK 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $28, that’s $26.60 at 5% off and $25.20 at 10% off, 45 bottles in stock now James Suckling 92 points “Very fresh lemon-balm and blossom nose with no hint of the opulence of the vintage. Excellent balance of bright lemon and white-peach fruit with silky acidity and a whisker of unfermented grape sweetness that smoothes the touch of tannin. Drink or hold.”
Markus Molitor Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett WK 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $28, that’s $26.60 at 5% off and $25.20 at 10% off, 19 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 93 points “The 2019 Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett (White Capsule) is highly refined and almost floral in its precisely slatey and flinty finesse that integrates very fine Riesling aromas. Everything seems to be in a young style for this wine that is pure, structured and dry, with a lovely mix of tannins, crystalline slate acidity and lingering salinity. This is not really fragile like, say, a Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr; instead, it’s filigreed and has strong bones. Fine tannins structure the fresh and lemony yet rich finish. A serious terroir wine with just 10.5% alcohol. Tasted in May 2021.”
Markus Molitor Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese WK 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $34.50, that’s $32.77 at 5% off and $31.05 at 10% off, 4 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 95 points “The 2020 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese (White Capsule) is clear, pure, intense and refined, spicy and flinty on the nose that shows fully ripe, yellow-golden Riesling fruit combined with flinty/savory slate aromas. Lush and dense yet crystalline and refined on the palate, this is an elegant, very intense and saline, concentrated and substantial Sonnenuhr Spätlese that is, analytically and also sensorially, certainly an Auslese that reveals a concentrated, lemon-fresh, savory and stimulating bitter finish with great substance and class. This 2020 is remarkably complex and tensioned, but it has stimulating, zesty salinity and serious tannin structure. This impressive dry (or dry styled?) Spätlese will need another five to 10 years to open up and unfold its finesse and layers that it will easily keep for 50+ years, if cellared properly. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 72 21 in July 2022.”
Markus Molitor Zeltinger Himmelriech Riesling Kabinett Green 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $26.50, that’s $25.17 at 5% off and $23.85 at 10% off, 18 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 94 points “The 2019 Zeltinger Himmelreich Kabinett (Green Capsule) is beautifully clear, fresh and flinty on the complex and crunchy, slate-driven bouquet of bright fruits and crushed stones. On the palate, this is a mouth-filling, juicy, vibrantly fresh and crisp, stimulating and piquant Kabinett with gorgeous slatey grip and a salivating finish. A fabulous Kabinett from 40+-year-old Riesling vines. Tasted in May 2021.”
Markus Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese WK 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $36, that’s $34.20 at 5% off and $32.40 at 10% off, 17 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 93+ points “The 2018 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese (White Capsule) offers a clear, fresh, bright and aromatic bouquet of white mandarins and mirabelles intertwined with the pure and refreshing tone of crushed stones and herbs. This bouquet gets you into the wine immediately. Round and intense on the succulent palate, this is a medium-bodied, elegant and very charming Sonnenuhr Spätlese with rather mild acidity but a serious terroir expression on the finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.”
Markus Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett GK 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $28, that’s $26.60 at 5% off and $25.20 at 10% off, 16 bottles in stock now Wine Advocate 92+ points “The 2018 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Kabinett (Golden Capsule) is intense and aromatic on the nose that displays a concentrated and ripe stone-fruit aroma with reductive, sulfuric notes. Round and silky on the palate, this is a crystalline, salty-piquant and structured Kabinett with intense and sweet yet elegant fruit and a promising long and grippy finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.”
