K Vintners Spring Release

The wines of K Vintners need very little introduction, as the wines Charles Smith makes under this label are some of our most popular year in and out.  If you’re unfamiliar with the winery, know that Charles Smith fashions himself a bit of a rock star and he ought to—he used to manage them.  Then, one day, on a motorcycle trip, he rode through Walla Walla and was struck by the majesty of the terrain and the vineyards.

Crowley Rose, Willamette Valley 2018 750ML ($21.95) $18 special

The King of Beaujolais Value

Domaine du Vissoux remains one of our best-selling Beaujolais producers.  Both from an absolute quality and value perspective, they’re a top class outfit, turning out fantastic wines that are huge customer favorites.  We’d sold through a number of their wines but are happy to report that almost all the 2017’s are back in stock (and we still have a few of the 2016’s poking around as well).

2015 Montevertine

Legendary Wine from a Legendary Vintage

One of Chianti’s greatest wines isn’t labeled as a Chianti, despite being made in the heart of the Classico zone. Montevertine originally left the appellation because at the time, white grapes were required to call a wine Chianti and Sergio Manetti, the owner, wanted to make a wine that was 100% Sangiovese, a scandalous thing at the time.

Casarena makes wine from the Lujan de Cuyo section of Mendoza—a section relatively unexplored in the modern wine industry, but possessing a wealth of old vines and interesting vineyards.  The wine we’re highlighting today, from Owen’s Vineyard, is made from a block of 80+ year old, pergola trained Cabernet.
