Wine Spectator 96 points “A wealth of cherry flavor is surrounded by cut grass, tar, tobacco and iron notes in this complex, intense red.
Bishop Creek Vineyard is a special vineyard, located in the western part of Yamhill-Carlton at a higher elevation than many of the famous sites of the AVA. Though it’s now the estate vineyard for Nicolas Jay Winery (the Oregon outpost of esteemed Burgundy producer Jean-Nicolas Meo), Marcus Goodfellow for several years made wine for his own label and also for Bishop Creek, which were often highlights both of his portfolio as well as Yamhill in general.
2015 remains a landmark year in the Loire, especially in Vouvray. The wines are rich and powerful, with explosive aromatics and finishes that seemingly go on forever. Domaine Huet was one of the stars of the show, releasing one of their finest collections to date. We’ve got even lower prices on some of the highlights of the set—from Demi-Sec all the way to nobly ripe Premiere Trie Moelleux. These are wines to buy and drink now and also in 20+ years and these prices are designed to smooth the path for you to do so.
James Suckling 97 points “This is a DP that shows the ripeness of the 2009 vintage yet remains full of energy. Gorgeous aromas of cream, apple, mango, honeysuckle, and chalk follow through to a full body and super fine, tight texture.
