Brunello is a place of magic, where the local Sangiovese Grosso clone ascends to levels of complexity and longevity impossible elsewhere. This is the elite of Tuscany and some of the finest wines produced in Europe.
And the most magical of Brunellos? Biondi-Santi. This winery, and family behind it were the founders of the region of Brunello di Montalcino, and through their approaching 200-year history have embodied the identity of quality, tradition, and longevity. They pioneered the use of grafting select vines to rescue the local clones from phylloxera, and were the first to bottle wines under the official “Brunello di Montalcino” label. Their wines are the ultimate expression of Brunello and a must have for all lovers of authentic and historic Tuscan wines.

Cantina del Pino:
Owners and winemakers at Cantina del Pino, the Vacca family has been a part of Italian winemaking for over 100 years. Domizio Cavazzo established the estate vineyard in 1894. He became one of the first winemakers to produce Nebbiolo under the name Barbaresco, over 70 years before the creation of the official appellation in 1966.
An advocate for regional farmers, Cavazzo’s vineyard was well known, recognizable by the large Mediterranean pine tree he planted on the day his first son was born. In 1912, the Vacca family took over the estate and have worked the land for four generations, becoming known for world class wines from the historic vineyard.

Named for the commune of Crozes and the smaller appellation of Hermitage that it surrounds, Crozes-Hermitage offers a diverse range of soil types and terroir within the Northern Rhone. It’s also home to some of the best values and most affordable reds the region had to offer.
The majority of the production are Syrah reds with a smattering of Marsanne / Roussanne white blends. Its wines tend to be more approachable in their youth than those from Hermitage, and far, far more affordable.

Gobelsburg
Schloss Gobelsburg is one of the oldest wineries in the Danube region of Austria. Its documented history dates back to 1171. It predates the signing of the Magna Carta by almost fifty years. Centuries of experience in the vineyards that surround the Gobelsburg castle by the Cistercian monks has led to intimate knowledge of the soils and microclimates. The meticulous care and concern are reflected in the precision and excellence of the modern wines.
In 1996, the Cistercian Monks of the Zwettl Monastery passed the winemaking role on to Michael Moosbrugger. The estate’s history of more 800 years of vineyard management heavily influences his craft today. Moosbrugger, recognizing this important place in history, maintains the traditions and practices that keep the wines so vibrant and powerful.
