Coming Very Soon: Cameron and Goodfellow

These Are Two of the Most Requested Wineries in the Willamette Valley!

“Cameron”

The artist at work…

In 2021 owner/wine-maker/mad scientist John Paul Cameron was preparing for a pretty standard vintage, especially after the drama of the 2020 wildfires. Then came the heat dome and it changed everything…

A constant advocate for dry farming and agricultural biodiversity with a biochemistry background, John Paul has an intrinsic understanding of the winemaking process from grape to bottle.

Introducing “4 Monos Viticultores”

Have you ever gone on vacation to a wonderful, beautiful place and then spent a good chunk of your precious time there thinking up ways to stay there permanently? Well, the friends behind the fabulous Spanish winery “4 Monos Viticultores” (pictured above) managed to do just that on a hiking trip through The Sierra de Gredos mountain range west of Madrid.

Equal parts Mediterranean and Alpine, the Sierra de Gredos spans three viticultural regions (Méntrida, Vinos de Madrid, and Castilla y León) but represents a terroir all their own.

Special Offer: Delas Frères 11-12-2023

It’s Syrah season at last. As temperatures drop and the last vestiges of Fall fade into Winter, there’s nothing better than a beautiful glass of one of the most unique red grapes on the planet. A grape that fits like a glove with all the seasonal fare you can expect to be on your dining room tables for the holidays. The smoky, savory, wonderfully spiced fruits of Syrah are begging to be enjoyed with your most festive dishes.

Today we have one of Syrah and the Northern Rhone’s most prestigious producers on special pricing for our Vinopolis loyal. Delas Frères has been making wine in the Rhone for generations and its portfolio includes bottlings from sub-appellations all across the North. With over 75 hectares of vineyard at its disposal (including more than 20 on Hermitage Hill itself), Delas is able to craft world class wines from top quality fruit year-in and year-out.

It’s kind of a big deal… this is the wine that put Washington on the fine wine radar. Founded by Alex Golitzin, the nephew of Napa Valley’s original wine whisperer Andre Tchelistcheff, they were encouraged to focus on perfecting just one wine. Alex chose Cabernet Sauvignon. Quilceda Creek has represented our country at White House dinners and has received numerous perfect 100 point scores from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, six of which belong to their flagship Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

“Elegance and Ageability”

Tyson Crowley creates some of the most charming and disarmingly delicious wines in the Valley. (See smile in Exhibit A.) Though the wines are rarely reviewed, he has, as the late and great Josh Raynolds put it, a “loyal following.” We’re happy to include ourselves in that group. His wines combine both delicious upfront fruit with a bright acidity and a keen sense of terroir. And the wines age beautifully – we’ve been fortunate enough to taste several late releases with five to ten years of bottle age on them.
