Larkmead

Larkmead is a historic property on a hot streak over the last decade.  Founded in 1895, the winery was an important pre-prohibition producer before a decline and rebirth in the late 90’s under the stewardship of winemaker Andy Smith and then (current winemaker) Dan Petroski.  Under their guidance, Larkmead has become one of the most coveted producers in Napa.

Located in a unique area of the Calistoga bench, Larkmead’s vineyard has the enviable quality of turning out wines that combine the intensity of mountain fruit with some of the soft textures of valley floor wines.

At the Best Price in the Country

Orin Swift makes a bit of wine in southwestern France—big powerful bottles that are probably even better than the wines produced in California.  They come from old, old vines in the Cotes Catalanes and we’re getting the top wine from that project, Pharoan, tomorrow. This is a wine not to be missed for lovers of the producer and a mere 18 bottles arrive tomorrow.
