Domaine Grand Veneur’s Powerful Chateauneuf

Alain Jaume’s Domaine Grand Veneur is a trailblazer in Chateauneuf du Pape that continues to make some of the finest wines in the appellation.  These are some of the most dramatic, powerful and opulent bottlings made in the Southern Rhone today and the prices they charge make them a steal compared to their nearest competitors.

Grand Veneur was one of the first in the region to use new oak barrels and consistently use more Syrah and Mourvèdre to than many of their peers, resulting in wines that have color and power than wines that driven by Grenache for their character.

New Arrivals from Ulysse Colin

Perhaps no vigneron exemplifies the New Champagne like Ulysse Collin. Born to a family of grape-growers, he worked tirelessly to free the family land from contracts selling fruit to negociants and now vinifies all of his wines as single-vineyard/vintage bottlings. His wines are profoundly introspective and challenge preconceived notions about what Champagne should be. At the forefront of the new wave of ultra-terroir-driven Champagnes, Olivier produces deeply vinous, mineral and hyper-concentrated wines.

Domaine du Vissoux

The Forefront of Beaujolais

Gamay’s explosion in popularity over the past decade has resulted in an excess of fantastic options from Beaujolais and beyond.  However there is probably no producer anywhere in the world, let alone Gamay’s spiritual home, offering better value than Domaine Vissoux.  The estate has been one of the region’s visionary producers ever since Pierre Chermette took over for his parents in 1982.  During his nearly four decades at the helm, Vissoux has remained at the forefront of Beaujolais’ quality movement.

2017 Muller Catoir Subscriber Special

Every wine region in the world has one or two estates that immediately come to mind when you hear the name of the region: Chateau Margaux in Margaux, Romanee-Conti in Vosne-Romanee, and Donnhoff in the Nahe. Muller-Catoir occupies that space in the Pfalz region of Germany.

The Pfalz region focused on powerful, dry wines long before it was fashionable and the wines we’re highlighting today are some of the best values in the world for breathtakingly mineral wines.
