Giovanni Rosso makes Barolo that’s synonymous with the perhaps the most prestigious commune in the area: Serralunga d’Alba.  The commune is known for powerful, age worthy versions of Barolo, highlighted by its most famous wines: Conterno’s Francia (and Monfortino), Giacosa’s Rocche del Falletto, Brovia’s Ca’Mia and a number of wines from Vigna Rionda. Perhaps no winery is more closely associated with the sub region than Giovanni Rosso, a winery that goes back to the 1890’s and has made its mark with powerful, intense Barolos.
