Some of the world’s oldest wineries are still quietly making some of the most profound wines for their region. These estates have been loved and sought-after for generations. Think of Saint Cosme in Gigondas, Schloss Gobelsburg in the Kamptal region of Austria, Ricasoli and Antinori in Tuscany, and Kopke in Port.
Kopke, founded in 1638, makes what might be the most vibrant and long-lived port wines available. They have been through adverse times in their nearly 400-year history, seeing dramatic shifts in the climate, swings in the popularity of their product, and the rise and fall of populist dictators. Through all of this, they’ve been consistent in their commitment to making the greatest Tawny and Colheita (vintage Tawny) Port available.
We’re fortunate to have a tremendous lineup available, including Colheita vintages dating back to 1934, and a 10-year, 30-year, and 50-year Tawny. The unbelievably youthful vintage Colheitas are perfect examples of how age adds concentration and depth, with the traditional Kopke freshness that keeps these so vibrant. All of our selections will continue to show their highlights and develop rich spice and dried fruit characteristics for years to come.
Although the main focus of Kopke has always been its Colheita and Tawnies, they also craft exceptional white and Vintage Ports. In 1922, the Port House acquired the Quinta de São Luiz, recognized as one of the most important estates in the Douro due to the quality of its vineyards and its history. Experience yours tonight!

Winery Note “Kopke White Colheita 2002 shows a straw yellow colour, and an intense and rich bouquet, with predominant aromas of dried fruit and light notes of exotic fruit wrapped in delicate hints of honey. On the palate it is fresh and intense, with the flavours of ageing in wood, such as spice, perfectly combined with the sweet notes of fruit in syrup. It unfolds into a long and enduring finish. Enjoy it with an almond, lemon and poppy seed cake, or milk and hazelnut chocolate nocciolato with basil ice cream. Wonderful just on its own, after a meal. Best served at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees.”

Kopke Colheita Tawny Port 1934 750ml Displayed Price: $899, that’s $854.05 at 5% off and $809.10 at 10% off, 6 bottles in stock now
Mark Squires-Wine Advocate 97 points “The 1934 Colheita Tawny Port was bottled March 2022 with 149 grams per liter of residual sugar and a bar-top cork. Of the many Sogevinus Tawnies that the producer showed over its various houses, this was the oldest and tasted like it. Yet, like all of the producer’s oldies, they do a great job in producing complexity without the fruit seeming too old. I’m told it is never topped off too. There are only about 450 liters left for the future. It is a bit darker, leaning a little more to molasses, but it’s surprisingly fresh for its age. It has fine concentration and an endless finish. It is certainly special, not automatically a lot better than, say, a 50 Year, but a very different experience.”

Kopke Colheita Tawny Port 2008 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 14 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Golden-brown colour, with reddish hues. Intense and rich on the nose, with aromas of syrup fruit well-matched with notes of spice and dried fruit. On the palate it is delicate, its sweetness perfectly matching its tannins and acidity, making it a balanced wine. A long and appealing finish. Served chilled, it reveals all its finesse and sophistication, especially when drunk with desserts made with caramel, dried fruit and spice, such as caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tarte tatin, crème brulée and medium-strength cheeses. Best served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C.”

This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast!
Kopke 30 Year Old Tawny Port 750ml Displayed Price: $119, that’s $113.05 at 5% off and $107.10 at 10% off, 2 bottles in stock now
Wine Spectator 94 points “A very inviting, open style, with butterscotch and caramel notes framing the core of glazed pear, caramelized peach, golden raisin and warm fig flavors. The lush finish lets crème brûlée and ginger cream details hang, showing a flash of honeysuckle for lift. Drink now. 200 cases imported.”

Wine Enthusiast 96 points “This is a luscious wine, with tannins that are cushioned by the ripe plum and prune fruits. That doesn’t mean it is likely to develop too quickly, but is ready to take its time, bringing out the opulent character of the wine as well as its structure. Drink from 2028. -Roger Voss”

Barr-Eden Estate ‘Dreams of Gold’ Mengler’s Hill Shiraz, Eden Valley, Australia 2020 750ml Was $39, Now $33 special, 8 bottles in stock now
Joe Czerwinski-Wine Advocate 90 points “A new addition to the lineup, the 2020 Dreams of Gold Shiraz comes from relatively young vines, planted in 1997 and 2013. Aged in older French oak, it boasts scents of “Eden Valley garrigue”—notes that suggest eucalyptus, bay leaf and wild thyme—set against a backdrop of blueberries. Less intense and concentrated than the other bottlings, it’s still medium to full-bodied, suave and silky in feel, with a clean, mouthwatering finish and a soft dusting of tannins. Barr-Eden Estate is the new name for the Love Over Gold partnership between Tim Howser, Joel Mattschoss, Pierre-Henri Morel and Michael Twelftree. Morel is the general manager of Two Hands and Howser and Twelftree are owners of Two Hands, while Mattschoss is a grape grower, with vines on Mengler’s Hill.”

Domaine Dominique Gallois La Combe Aux Moines, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2016 750ml Was $119, Now $99 special, 2 bottles in stock now
Burghound 91 points “Outstanding. This too is very deeply hued. Liqueur-like and super-fresh aromas are composed by notes of red and dark currant, earth, violet and a hint of the sauvage. There is outstanding richness and volume to the caressing yet powerful middle weight plus flavors that possess excellent depth and persistence on the muscular, youthfully austere and moderately firm finish. This is a very good CAM and worth checking out.”

Failla Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2021 750ml Was $59, Now $49 special, 11 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Aromatically the wine has notes of bramble, tart blackberry, cigar box, Asian spice, and black tea compliment a balanced tannin structure. This wine will age in a cellar for years to come. On the palate, there is a hint of riper fruit flavors, as well as restrained tannins that showcase just how cellar-worthy this bottle is.”

Finishes long and juicy, with repeating florality and gentle tannins adding final grip.”

Rizzi Boito, Barbaresco Riserva DOCG 2015 750ml Was $99, Now $89 special, 7 bottles in stock now
Kerin O’Keefe-Wine Enthusiast 96 points “Cellar Selection. Camphor, pipe tobacco, iris and mature black-skinned fruit aromas shape the nose on this full-bodied red. Delicious and structured, the firm palate delivers succulent black cherry, raspberry and licorice framed in firm, tightly knit but noble tannins. Drink 2023–2030.”

Salvioni Cerbaiola Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany 2018 750ml Was $89, Now $79 special, 10 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 93 points “The 2018 Salvioni Rosso di Montalcino leads off with a zesty, fresh display of Sangiovese fruit, as a mix of cherry and strawberry is complemented by hints of sweet spice, leather and gorgeous exotic florals. On the palate, I’m finding a wonderfully pure expression, focused on ripe red fruits with energizing acids and subtle spice, as pretty inner rose develops toward the close. Hints of fine tannin and minerals mingle throughout the finish, and a staining of black cherry lingers on and on. What a beautiful, feminine, and truly enjoyable vintage for the Salvioni Rosso.”
