Lafon Macon Clos de la Crochette 2011 ($39.95) $31.90 special 13 bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“An expressive and very pretty nose of white peach, pear and apple aromas leads to seductively textured flavors that are clean and bright. There is solid mid-palate concentration to the citrusy, complex, balanced and attractively persistent finish that displays an interesting hint of green tea.”

Deux Montille Auxey Duresses Blanc 2010 ($39.95) $33 special final bottle available
Burghound 89 points
“A reticent green fruit nose is given added breadth from the presence of citrus and pretty dried floral notes. There is fine precision and excellent intensity to the round, rich and well-detailed flavors that culminate in a bone dry, cuts-like-a-knife finish. This offers excellent quality for a villages level Auxey.”

Deux Montille Montagny Coeres 2010 ($39.95) $33 special 24+ bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 91 points
“Bright pale yellow.  Tight, pure aromas of lime, quinine and ginger.  Chewy, dense and rich, with brisk citrus fruits and saline minerality energizing the middle palate.  Finishes tactile and impressively long for Montagny.”

Ferret Puilly Fuisse Sous Vergisson 2011 ($39.95) $33 special final bottle available

Jadot Savigny Les Beaune Les Guettes Blanc 2011 ($41.95) $33 special 20 bottles available
John Gilman 90 points “The 2011 Clos des Guettes blanc is again a very pretty wine, with that telltale touch of pastry cream on both the nose and palate that indicates the malo was partially blocked here. The stylish and inviting bouquet is a lovely mélange of apple, orange, crème patissière, stony minerality and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and quite driven by its underlying minerality, with snappy acids and very fine length and grip on the youthful finish. This is very tasty, but will want a year or two in the cellar to fully blossom…”

PY Colin-Morey St Aubin Le Blanc 2012 ($45.95) $39 special final bottle available
PY Colin Morey Montagny Burnins 1er Cru 2012 ($45.95) $39 special final 3 bottles available

Matrot Meursault Chevalier 2011 750ml ($44.95) $37 special 24+ bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 89-91 points “Ripe fresh apricot and marzipan on the nose, along with a mineral component. Juicy, spicy and minerally; more taut and less fat than the basic village offering. Showing its oak but finishes with good cut and grip”

Thomas Morey St Aubin Puits 2011 ($49.95) $39 special final bottle available

Etienne Sauzet Bourgogne Chardonnay 2011 ($34.95) $27 special final 2 bottles available
Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet 2011 375ml ($41.95) $33 special  20 bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 87-90 points “(I tasted an assemblage of all five components):  Sexy nose combines white flowers, spices and musky lees.  Fat, plush and sweet, with a firm mineral edge giving the mid-palate a more chiseled quality than the Chassagne villages.  The citrus and dusty stone finish conveys an impression of grip and firmness.”

Tribut Chablis Beauroy 2011 ($44.95) $36 special 16 bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 89-91 points
“Reticent nose hints at grapefruit, crushed stone and menthol.  Juicy, spicy and rather round, with citrus and stone flavors opening in the glass.  Ultimately sweeter and softer than the Cote de Lechet, and nicely concentrated for the year.  This wine has been in older barrels for the past three months; it will be racked and assembled in September.”

Verdet Hautes Cotes de Nuits Prieure Blanc 2010 ($39.95) $33 special final 9 bottles available
From the winery:
Hautes Côtes Le Prieuré, owned by the winery, was planted in the 1970’s and has been certified organic since 1971.  Behind the charming village of Arcenant 5 miles west of Nuits St Georges, this vineyard is composed of limestone & clay. The white PRIEURE has a crystalline nose of lime zest and mineral stoniness with a full body and mouth watering acidity.

Bize Savigny les Beaune Bourgeots 2010 ($49.95) $33 special 18 bottles available
Burghound “A more elegant and slightly more complex nose speaks of earth, ripe purple fruit and a hint of violets along with plenty of pungent Savigny style earth. There is good richness to the sappy and naturally sweet medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mouth feel, all wrapped in a balanced finish. Lovely.”

JM Boillot Volnay 2011 ($49.95) $39 special 12 bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 89 points
“Light, bright red. Dark berries and spices complicated by licorice and game on the nose. Supple, round and juicy, with plum and underbrush flavors showing both sweet and savory qualities. In a more flattering style than the Beaune Epenottes, and the fine dusting of tannins will not get in the way of early enjoyment.”

Louis Boillot Gevrey Chambertin 2008 ($49.95) $27 special 18 bottles available
Burghound 88-90 points
“Like the Fixin, this is unusually elegant with a pretty blend of upper and lower register aromas that include fresh red berry fruit with earth and underbrush nuances that also extend to the detailed, pure and very Gevrey-like medium-bodied flavors that possess both excellent depth and length on the vibrant and lingering finish. The old vine sap is in evidence and this is one to consider as it’s a fine villages.”

JM Bouley Volnay 2010 ($49.95) $36 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound 88-91 points
“This offers a big step up in both aromatic complexity as well as elegance with its cool red berry fruit nose replete with violet and anise hints. There is good richness and fine volume with ample mid-palate concentration to the refined middle weight flavors as the supporting tannins possess a very fine grain, all wrapped in a balanced, intense and solidly long finish. There is a touch of youthful austerity but I suspect that the backend will flesh out relatively quickly.”

Camus Bruchon Savigny les Beaune Pimentieres 2010 ($41.95) $36 special final 5 bottles available
Burghound 88-91 points
“A notably more complex if not necessarily more refined nose of kirsch, warm earth and a hint of the sauvage merges seamlessly into rich, concentrated and mouth coating flavors that enjoy an abundance of dry extract that amply displays the extra dimension typically present with the fruit of such old vines. There is excellent character present if limited elegance.”

Chandon Briailles Savigny les Beaune 2010 ($39.95) $34.50 special 16 bottles available
Burghound 87-89 points
“A deeply pitched nose of Savigny-style earth, floral notes and fresh dark berry fruit aromas precedes the clean, fresh and vibrant middle weight flavors that are shaped by rustic but ripe tannins that are well-integrated on the tension-filled finish. This isn’t particularly refined but it’s solidly complex and well-balanced.”

Chevillon Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2010 ($27.95) $21 special final 9 bottles available
Chevillon Nuits St Georges Vieilles Vignes 2007 ($54.95) $39 special 19 bottles available
Burghound 91 points
“Elegant and beautifully expressive aromas of white fruits and flowers trimmed in noticeable wood introduce detailed, fine and mineral-infused medium weight flavors that are both sappy and precise on the impressively persistent finish. This is beautifully well-balanced though the wood is hardly restrained.”

Chevillon Nuits St Georges Vieilles Vignes 2009 ($69.95) $39 special 13 bottles available
Burghound 87-89 points
“A discreet hint of wood sets off an equally expressive and also very fresh nose of animale infused red and dark berry fruit aromas. The rich, mouth coating and intense middle weight flavors are blessed with ample amounts of dry extract that confers a velvety palate impression on the mildly rustic and persistent finish. Solid quality here.”

Marc Colin Bourgogne Rouge 2011 ($21.95) $16 special 21 bottles available
Marc Colin Santenay Rouge Vieilles Vignes 2011 ($34.95) $27 special 24+ bottles available

D’Ardhuy Savigny les Beaune Aux Clous 2010 ($37.95) $28 special 14 bottles available
Burghound 88 points “There is a touch of crushed leaf character to the otherwise ripe, earthy and pretty mélange of dark berry fruit aromas. There is lovely complexity to the punchy and mildly rustic medium weight flavors that possess very firm tannins on the lingering finish. This is clearly built to age and will need the better part of a decade to arrive at its peak.”

D’Ardhuy Savigny les Beaune Narbantons 2010 ($44.95) $36 special 19 bottles available
Burghound 90 points
“The appealingly complex nose offers up aromas of ripe dark berries that are infused with plenty of pungent Savigny style iron-infused earth. There is good density to the pliable and round flavors that possess good punch on the dusty, firm and balanced finish. This is the best of this group of Savigny-based wines and possesses the highest level of phenolic maturity as well. Worth a look.”

D’Ardhuy Savigny les Beaune Peuillets 2010 ($39.95) $29 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound
“The aromatic profile is similar to that of the straight Savigny villages though here there is a vegetal character. There is better refinement to the supporting tannins on the supple medium-bodied flavors that possess mineral hints on the mildly edgy and solidly structured finish. I like the detail and sense of energy but the slight edginess will limit the appeal of this wine for some.”

D’Ardhuy CDNV Clos des Langres 2009 ($44.95) $36 special 14 bottles available
Burghound 89 points
‘OUTSTANDING’ “A ripe but relatively high-toned nose offers up notes of raspberry, red currants and rose petals that precede supple, round and appealingly detailed flavors that evidence a subtle stoniness on the beautifully well-balanced and focused finish. This is less rustic than usual and really quite pretty. Worth a look.”

D’Ardhuy CDNV Clos des Langres 2010 ($49.95) $33 special 17 bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“Bright ruby. An agreeably fresh nose of red and black currants, plum and earth gives way to precise and attractively vibrant flavors that are unusually refined in the context of the appellation. There is only moderate depth but I like the balance and overall persistence. Good quality here.”

Digioia- Royer Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2011 ($19.95) $16 special 20 bottles available
Digioia- Royer Bourgogne Rouge 2011 ($24.95) $21.90 special 24+ bottles available

Michel Digioia has been at the helm of this domaine, discreetly tucked down a side-street in Chambolle, since 1999 after taking on the vines of his wife’s family, who established the domaine in the 1930s. In 2003 Michel began to bottle his own wine, paying careful attention to his manually harvested vineyards. Domaine Digioia-Royer has a strong focus on Chambolle-Musigny; all the village and premier cru wines are from the village.  The Bourgogne Passetoutgrain, instead of the usual proportions with one third pinot noir and two thirds gamay, is made with equal amounts of both grape varieties.

Dupont Tisserandot Gevrey Chambertin VV 2010 ($49.95) $39 special 24 bottles available
Burghound 89-91 points
“This is also quite pure with attractive and relatively high-toned aromas of fresh red and dark berry fruit that complement well the detailed, intense and equally earthy medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent precision and plenty of vibrancy on the serious, balanced and solidly persistent finish. This is an excellent and age-worthy villages that is worth a look.”

Faiveley Bourgogne Rouge 2010 ($19.95) $16 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound
“A very pretty red berry fruit nose that evidences soft earth influence leads to very fresh and racy flavors that are still quite tight as the finish is clean though mildly tangy. This is on the lighter side.”

JN Gagnard Chassagne Rouge L’Estimee 2011 ($37.95) $29 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“A very fresh and expressive nose of red and blue pinot fruit with pepper and earth hints leads to rich, delicious and nicely complex middle weight flavors that offer good persistence and only a mild touch of rusticity on the sappy finish. This should be approachable, and enjoyable, young if desired”

Girardin Pommard Les Vignots 2009 ($49.95) $33 special final 8 bottles available

Gouges Nuits St Georges 2011 375ml ($39.95) $33 special final 12 bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 87-89 points
“Good bright, deep red. Strong animal reduction along with black and red fruits on the nose. Silky and supple for a Nuits villages owing to ripe acidity, with a lovely restrained sweetness to its dark fruit flavors. Finishes with suave tannins and good breadth and length. Very nicely balanced.”

Guillemot Savigny les Beaune Grands Picotins 2010 ($34.95) $28 special final 5 bottles available

Huber Verdereau Volnay 2010 ($49.95) $33 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“A pretty mix of red and blue pinot fruit aromas exhibits plenty of earth influence that continues onto the silky and pure middle weight flavors that culminate in a moderately rustic and austere finish. This will need a few years to flesh out and add depth.”

Jadot Chorey les Beaune 2009 ($33.95) $21.90 special 24+ bottles available
Jadot Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge 2009 ($39.95) $27 special final 4 bottles available

Jadot Beaune Bressandes 2009 ($59.95) $36 special final 7 bottles available
Wine Spectator 91 points
“Though the cherry flavor is bright and pure, there’s a woody component to this wine that lends a sweet spice note and dry tannins to the finish. Elegant and tight-grained. Best from 2015 through 2027. 170 cases imported”

Jadot Beaune Bressandes 2011 ($44.95) $33 special final 6 bottles available
Burghound 87-89 points
“This is slightly riper than the Savigny and more floral as well with its attractive mix of white orchard fruit and softly oaky aromas. There is plenty of flesh to the mid-palate as the enveloping middle weight flavors possess a seductive mouth feel, all wrapped in a forward, delicious and easy-to-like finish.”

Jadot Beaune Theurons 2009 ($59.95) $33 special 16 bottles available
Wine Spectator 91 points
“Bright and succulent, with a touch of oak lending spice accents to the candied cherry core. An elegant, lacy red, yet with intensity. Feels like it’s holding something back. Best from 2015 through 2027. 229 cases imported”

Jadot Pernand- Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre Rouge 2009 ($44.95) $27 special 17 bottles available
Burghound 89 points
‘Outstanding’ “Not surprisingly, this is an extremely fresh ’09 with its bright red berry fruit, stone and subtle earth aromas that precede delicious, intense and attractively vibrant middle weight flavors that possess good detail and focus on the ever-so-mildly austere but lingering finish. This has good underlying material and should benefit from a few years in bottle in order to round out a bit as it’s somewhat standoffish at present.”

Jadot Pernand- Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre Rouge 2010 ($49.95) $39 special 24+ bottles available
Wine Enthusiast 92 points
“The Clos de la Croix de Pierre forms part of the En Caradeux premier cru, and it creates poised wines. This is the red partner to a white also produced by Louis Jadot, and it displays juicy red fruit, layered with firm tannins. Drinkable now, but also capable of aging for five years.”

Jadot Savigny les Beaune La Dominode 2010 ($49.95) $39 special final 11 bottles available
Wine Advocate 90 points
“The 2010 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Dominodes has a vivacious nose with plenty of crisp red currant and fresh strawberry fruit that burst from the glass. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity, firm grip and a touch of spice toward the lifted finish. This is a lovely, lilting Savigny that I would rather drink in its youth. Drink now-2017.-NM”

Jadot Savigny les Beaune Les Narbantons 2010 ($49.95) $39 special 18 bottles available
Antonio Galloni 90 points
“The 2010 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Dominodes has a vivacious nose with plenty of crisp red currant and fresh strawberry fruit that burst from the glass. Jadot Cotes de Nuits Vaucrain 2010 ($29.95) $21.90 special 14 bottles available
Burghound
“A pungent nose of warm earth and animale influences adds depth to the moderately toasty and menthol-infused red berry fruit aromas. There is good volume and plenty of character to the mildly rustic medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by ripe tannins and a delicious if still very backward finish.”

Jadot Cotes de Nuits Vaucrain 2011 ($34.95) $27 special final 12 bottles available
Burghound
“An earthy and moderately sauvage nose of both red and dark berry fruit precedes detail and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that possess an attractive mouth feel on the mid-palate yet the finish is dry and borderline astringent. I would suggest drinking this young.”

Jadot Gevrey Chambertin 2010 ($54.95) $39 special 24+ bottles available
John Gilman 89+ points
“The 2010 Gevrey AC was also one of the last to finish up malo in the cellars this year, but the wine was showing very good potential. The nose is a fine mélange of black cherries, cassis, coffee bean, fresh herb tones, woodsmoke and black minerality. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and complete, with a fine core, moderate tannins and very good length and grip on the tangy finish. This too will get a ‘booster’ of de-classified premier cru barrels and will probably merit a 90+ point score once that takes place.”

Jadot Marsannay 2009 ($39.95) $24 special 23 bottles available
Burghound 87-89 points
“A distinctly earthy yet quite pretty, indeed even somewhat perfumed nose of raspberry and cherry aromas leads to detailed, supple and delicious middle weight flavors where the tannins are only mildly rustic on the firm but not tough and slightly warm finish. This should offer 4 to 6 years of improvement.”

Rene Leclerc Gevrey Chambertin 2008 ($49.95) $29 special final 2 bottles available
Burghound
“A very fresh and rather woodsy nose of forest floor, floral and wild red berry aromas merges into relatively refined flavors that possess a detailed and earthy finish that is clean, linear and mildly austere. This is quite fine for a villages Gevrey.”

Rene Leclerc Gevrey Chambertin 2009 ($59.95) $39 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound
“A reserved nose speaks of pungent earth and fresh red currant aromas that slide seamlessly into nicely rich and voluminous flavors that are also very forward and open on the balanced, persistent and sappy finish. This should benefit from 4 to 6 years of cellar time.”

Matrot St Aubin Creots 1er Cru 2011 ($44.95) $35 special final 12 bottles available
Burghound
“An earthy, somber and distinctly serious nose offers up aromas of red and dark berries, underbrush and humus. There is a hint of minerality to the notably finer middle weight flavors that display fine length on the more complex finish that is supported by supple tannins. This is really quite pretty in its fashion.”

Matrot Monthelie 2010 ($44.95) $36 special 21 bottles available
Burghound
“A pretty and attractively layered nose of plum, red raspberry, cherry and soft warm earth nuances. There is good energy to the supple and round flavors that are shaped by light and fine-grained tannins that, like the Bourgogne, will allow this to be enjoyed almost immediately.”

Matrot Monthelie 2011 ($49.95) $39 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound
“…an earthy and mildly rustic nose of dark berries and pungent earth aromas. The same touch of rusticity can be found on the delicious, round and already approachable medium-bodied flavors that possess good depth and reasonably good length. This should drink well almost immediately yet reward a few years of cellar time as well.”

Matrot Meursault Rouge 2010 ($49.95) $39 special 21 bottles available
Matrot Meursault Rouge 2011 ($49.95) $39 special final 12 bottles available

The Matrot domaine is one of the oldest estate-bottlers in Burgundy and one of the largest and most important properties in Meursault. 100% estate-bottling has been practiced at the domaine since Thierry’s grandfather, Joseph Matrot, took it over in 1908. The domaine farms about 3/4 of its 45 acres, some of the finest vineyards in the heart of Burgundy. The average age of the vines is an impressive 30 years. Thierry Matrot works towards the achievement of one major goal: to produce a wine that retains its elegance while maximizing both the fruit and the native tang of the soil. In order to accomplish this goal, he relies upon his wine making philosophy: “wine is made in the vineyards – and far less than people think, in the cellar.”

JM Millot Cotes de Nuits Aux Faulques 2011 ($34.95) $29 special 19 bottles available
Burghound
“…there is good freshness and verve to the delicious lighter weight flavors that are underpinned by relatively fine tannins even though there is a mild trace of rusticity on the appealingly balanced and persistent finish. This is also quite good and the only thing separating this from the Savigny is that the latter has just a bit more overall depth.”

Pavelot Savigny les Beaune 2009 ($39.95) $27 special 17 bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“This is also aromatically quite pretty with ripe red berry and plum aromas liberally laced with ample amounts of Savigny-style earth that continues onto the round, supple and appealing flavors that culminate in a balanced and naturally sweet finish. Lovely and fashioned in Pavelot’s usual understated style.”

Pavelot Savigny les Beaune 2010 ($44.95) $24 special 24+ bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“Here the fruit is ripe though distinctly different as the Savigny style earth character is quite prominent on the somber dark pinot fruit nose. There is a velvety texture to the supple and relatively forward flavors that possess good concentration and fine balance on the sappy finish. This isn’t an especially elegant effort but it is certainly delicious and satisfying.”

Nicholas Potel Bourgogne Rouge 2012 ($17.95) $14 special 28 bottles available
Nicholas Potel Gevrey Chambertin 2006 ($49.95) $29 special final 4 bottles available
Burghound
“An unusually pretty and expressive nose of airy red berry fruit nuanced by touches of earth, underbrush, stone and only a trace of the sauvage slides into rich, full and attractively intense flavors that culminate in a moderately firm and only slightly rustic finish. This is not overly complex but it’s certainly delicious.”

Rapet Pernand Vergeslesses Belles Filles 2009 ($44.95) $29 special final 8 bottles available
Burghound 88 points
“This is a ripe Pernand with very pretty aromas of red berries and plum nuances that lead to earthy and mildly rustic middle weight flavors that possess good punch and plenty of verve on the moderately persistent finish. This should drink well young but offer a few years of development potential as well.”

Roche de Bellene Savigny les Beaune Vieilles Vignes 2009 ($29.95) $24 special final 2 bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 88 points
“Medium red.  Perfumed, slightly liqueur-like, high-toned aromas of candied raspberry and rose petal.  Red cherry and menthol flavors are perked up by dill and mint nuances and given definition by bright acidity.  Silky-sweet but at the same time fresh for 2009.  Good honest wine with dusty tannins and very good verve.”

Laurent Roumier Chambolle Musigny 2010 375ml ($39.95) $33 special 24+ bottles available
Laurent Roumier Hautes Cote de Nuits 2010 ($39.95) $33 special 24+ bottles available

Roumier is a family of 3 generations which started by Georges Roumier who had found this in 1924. Today, there exists two seperate domaines, Christophe Roumier and Domaine Laurent Roumier. All of the wines in the Roumier repertoire are beautifully aromatic, with exceptional intensity and made in his quintessentially elegant style, including the lovely Chambolle. The Hautes Côtes de Nuits plot is located immediately above Roumier’s Chambolle Musigny vines, and the wine has a similar vibrancy and represents superb value for money.

Tollot- Beaut Chorey les Beaune 2010 ($39.95) $33 special 22 bottles available
Wine Spectator 89 points
“A suave, polished style, bursting with cherry, raspberry, smoke and spice flavors. Features some grip, rounded out by a long, fruit- and spice-filled finish. Best from 2014 through 2022.”

De Villaine Bourgogne La Digoine 2011 ($39.95) $36 special final 5 bottles available
Burghound
“Here the expressive nose is a bit more complex with tis spicy aromas of red berries, plus and earth nuances. This is a bigger and more concentrated wine plus the supporting tannins possess slightly better phenolic maturity as well, all wrapped in a balanced and lingering finish that could be enjoyed young or held for a few years first. This wine has an excellent track record for aging well and the 2011 version should be no exception.”
