Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines

The Wine Spectator Top 100 list has been released in full, which means that once again there’s a big frenzy for all the top wines.  We’ve sold through all of the Top 10, but we have a number of wines from the just-released rest of the list.  Some of these are in stock now (like the excellent Nervi Gattinara) and some of these are pre-arrival (like the powerful Guigal Brune et Blonde) but all are worth a purchase.

Featured New Arrival

2008 Roederer Cristal

The 2008 edition of Cristal is a wine that needs little in the way of further hype.  It’s easily the best vintage since 2002, more likely the best since ’96 or 1990.  It’s a stunning wine, which was further evidenced when we tasted it in a lineup of other ’08 Tete du Cuvees.  It was easily the best in class, even among other wines in its prestige category.

Rombauer Classics

Best Prices for One of the Most Popular Wineries in California!
Rombauer is a name that needs little introduction.  One of the best-selling names in California wine history, their Chardonnay and Zinfandel set standards for big bold wines.  Those wines mirror the house style—the goal with all the wines from Rombauer is to be as delicious as possible right out of the gate.  When the family started their winery in the 80’s, this was a revolutionary notion.  Now, it seems like a no-brainer thanks to their efforts.

We’re offering stunning deals on a wide variety of their wines—a bit of a coup, if we may say so ourselves.

Seghesio Defiant

At Half Off the Winery’s Price

Seghesio’s “Defiant” is a powerful red blend that’s a big, rich wine perfect for drinking in the winter and fall. It tastes better when it’s half off what the winery charges for the wine (and fully $16/btl off the lowest wine-searcher price.  A blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet and a bunch of other minor grapes, this is a wine with beautiful texture, a full body and silky tannins.

What’s the most anticipated Willamette Valley release in our shop? Cameron Winery’s single vineyard bottlings.
