Henri Boillot’s Classic White Burgundy

Henri Boillot is an undisputed top producer of white Burgundy, vinifying wine after wine that turns heads and captures hearts.  Rich, bold, textured and complex, with minerality to spare, these wines are the quintessence of whites Burgundy for many.  We’ve got our allocation of the 2017’s arriving in the next month and are excited to offer them to you today.

2017 represents a return to form for the white side of the Cote d’Or.  2016 was excellent when it was good, but frost and hail damaged many vineyards, reducing yields and creating riper than expected wines in some instances.

Big Rhone Reds for Grilling

While many people like to go all-American for their fourth of July celebrations, we’re after the best wines and biggest values to pair with wines coming off of the grill. To that end, there’s no better choice than the Rhone valley, whose rich, robust reds seem born to pair with hearty, smoky foods.  Whether you’re looking at $15 Cotes du Rhones or $75 Chateauneuf du Pape, the wines deliver a top of value relative to other regions in their price categories, as well—always a good thing.

94+ Point Spanish Values

All Under $20

Priorat and its neighbor, Montsant, make some of the most profound wines in Spain, at prices that make them exceptionally good buys.  The deals we’re offering today, though, push the quality to price ratio beyond the rational: three wines, all under $20, all with 94 point or higher scores from a reviewer (Jeb Dunnuck) who used to work for the Advocate and isn’t known for score inflation.

The top two wines are part of the “Black Slate” project that Eric Solomon created to highlight different terroirs in Priorat.
