We at Vinopolis love a good bargain, and for that we regularly turn to Beaujolais. Could there be a more perfect red? We’re not so sure. It’s certainly one of the most flexible for the money (we can’t drink Oregon Pinot every day!):
Need a wine for immediate drinking? Beaujolais.
Need something that will pair with food from appetizers, salads, soups, and mains all the way to the cheese course? Beaujolais.
Need something that will cellar? Beaujolais.
At the forefront of the natural and sustainable wine movements? Beaujolais.
Yet something that will wow traditionalists? Honey, my THE wine was Beaujolais.
Chillable red? Beaujolais.
Yet could be dense and serious?

(It’s a region that seems to pull at French hearts, as it did with the late Philippe Cambie and his joint project with Adam Lee of Siduri, named Beau Marchais.)
