Giving up lots of cassis, currants, spicy oak and bouquet garni, with subtle violet qualities with air, it hits the palate with serious richness, a full, layered mid-palate and masses of sweet tannin. Like most of Paul’s wines, I think they have the fruit and texture to offer plenty of pleasure in their youth, yet they don’t hit their stride until at least 5-7 years after the vintage.”
