James Suckling 97 points “This complex Champagne has delicious aromas of waffle cones, vanilla beans, apricots and pastry with touches of white chocolate and salted caramel. Jean-Jacques Vincent Brut, Cremant de Bourgogne NV 750ml $21.90 special, 9 bottles in stock now
Wine & Spirits 92 points “From the owners of Château Fuissé, this méthode traditionelle bursts with clean, crisp chardonnay flavors of apples and white fruit. It’s juicy and full-bodied, with fine floral details and citrus spice keeping it buoyant into a long finish.”
Domaine Michel Gros Clos de Vougeot Grand Maupertuis Grand Cru 2022 750ml $349 special, 4 bottles in stock now
Neal Martin-Vinous 91-93 points “The 2022 Clos de Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru is matured in 100% new oak. This has a refined bouquet, understated at first, opening with black cherries and red plum scents, a touch of rose bush in the background. The medium-bodied palate has a succulent entry. It’s one of the fleshiest, more corpulent Clos Vougeot wines that I met, although I still contend that the new oak is just a little too vocal on the finish (I maintain that exchanging one of the three barrels for used would ameliorate this cuvée.) Still, give it five or six years in bottle, and you’ll have a decent Clos Vougeot.”

Domaine Saint Damien Gigondas Vieilles Vignes, Rhone 2022 750ml $44.50 special, 35 bottles in stock now
Yohan Castaing-Wine Advocate 91 points “Offering a deep and youthfully sapid bouquet of dark cherries, violet, spices and herbs, the 2022 Gigondas Classique Vieilles Vignes, a blend of 8% Grenache Noir and 20% Mourvèdre, is medium to full-bodied, enrobing and perfectly balanced, with a juicy texture, good depth at the core and a structured but well-integrated tannic frame. Matured for 12 months in foudres, this classic, beautifully crafted Gigondas finishes long and elegant, with a lingering spicy aftertaste.”
Domaine Saint Damien Gigondas Les Souteyrades, Rhone 2022 750ml $44.50 special, 16 bottles in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 94-96 points “A gorgeous wine in the vintage, the 2022 Gigondas Les Souteyrades checks in as 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre that saw a lengthy maceration and will spend over a year in foudre. It’s a ripe, powerful Gigondas with medium to full-bodied richness, notes of ripe strawberries, black raspberries, exotic spice, and flowers, a terrific sense of freshness and purity, fine tannins, and a great finish. Readers should snatch up this sensational 2022. A domaine located on the lower plains of Gigondas, Domaine Saint-Damien releases four Gigondas, their Vieilles Vignes, which is a blend of the single vintage, two single vineyards, the Les Souteyrade and La Louisiane, and lastly and most recently, the Clovis Saurel. All the wines are largely Grenache and destemmed, and aside from the Clovis Saurel, which is aged in demi-muids, are brought up in foudre and tank. These are brilliant, layered, textured Gigondas that represent insane values.”
Chateau d’Oupia Les Heretiques, IGP Pays d’Herault 2023 750ml $14 special, 34 bottles in stock now
Grapelive 90 points “A deep array of black raspberry, plum, blueberry and berry fruits, accented by Mediterranean shrub, white pepper, anise, lilac and lander notes in a medium full-bodied wine with gentle tannins and a light earthy feel. Coming from vines, some of which are over 100 years old, and planted on clay-limestone soils the Carignan grapes are sustainably farmed with organic and biodynamic methods. In some years small amounts of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsualt might make their way into the blend, but this wine truly belongs to its old vine Carignan, which sees fermentation with whole cluster for a full carbonic maceration in steel tanks, where it ages a short time as well before bottling.”

There’s silky vinous quality here to go with smoky raspberry, red currant, wild plum and pomegranate fruits, as well as anise, lavender and truffle notes.”

Very sleek and steely, but also brilliant and dynamic, this riesling packs a serious slate punch, considering it’s genuinely light-bodied. Intense Amalfi-lemon and flint flavors in the long, focused finish. From organically grown grapes from 70- to 90-year-old vines. Drink or hold.”

It’s lush and gains harmony with time in the glass, dried black cherries mixed with raisin and fig. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins and a keen line of acidity, and it is harmonious with a lilting, nonchalant finish that perhaps doesn’t stay in the memory for long. Fine.”

Chateau Clerc-Milon, Pauillac 2015 750ml $108 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Wine Review Online 93 points “A little over half a century ago, Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired Chāteau Clerc Milon, the Fifth Growth, to reveal the full potential of this great terroir on the left bank of Bordeaux. The 2015 vintage of the Clerc Milon is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, and 1% Carmenere. It offers a gorgeous nose of sandalwood, cinnamon sticks, and candied violets. The palate is opulent with cassis, plum, blackberries, cedar, and spice. The finish reaffirms the pedigree with purity and tremendous length on the finish, and it is something to treasure for years to come.:

Chateau Malescot-St-Exupery, Margaux 2008 750ml $99 special, 1 bottle in stock now
Neal Martin-Vinous 93 points “The 2008 Malescot St Exupery has a conservative, correct bouquet that to be frank is rather unexciting compared to its peers, although it does open and reveal briary and crushed rose petal scents and bingo, you are soon under its spell. The palate is medium-bodied with “furry” tannins, good depth of fruit and it has a fine line of acidity. I like the spine of this Margaux and the classicism shown towards the bright finish. It is one of those wines that meliorates with acquaintance, approaching previous scores that I have awarded this wine.”

Domaine Tempier Bandol Blanc 2024 750ml $59 special, 3 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Tempier’s Blanc, with its delicate florals, subtle note of anise, and stony finish, tastes perfect alongside shellfish or grilled seafood. After a few years in your cellar, pair it with cheeses or serve it alone to appreciate the “honeyed and marine aromas” that develop with age.”
Domaine Tempier Bandol ‘Lulu & Lucien’ 2023 750ml $74.50 special, 12 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “The Estate’s prominent cuvée blends the discrete strength of Bandol with the elegance and finesse which characterize Tempier. This complexity is a result of different terroirs of the estate and the variety of its clay-limestone soil located around the Estate but also in La Cadière, Sainte Anne d’Evenos, and Ollioules. There are sandy marls, limestone greseux from santonien, rudist limestone and recent barely deep horizons of colluvions. Plus, there are various sun or wind exposures. Mourvèdre (~ 75%) with Grenache and Cinsault and a smaller proportion of Carignan and Syrah. Average age of the vines: 35 – 40 years.”
Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvée Cabassaou 2023 750ml $139 special, 3 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “The Cabassaou cuvée (ça cabasse = gives a hefty punch) is from a terroir with small stone walls, at the bottom of the Tourtine, protected from the Mistral wind. The vines benefit from a very warm micro-climate with thermal winds. Paradoxically the vines are located at the bottom of the hill but the soil is not deep and the yields are very small. They give a very dense, tight wine, typically Mourvèdre , with an exceptional aging potential. Composition: Mourvèdre (92 to 94%), with Syrah and a bit of Cinsault. Average age of the vines : 60 years minimum.”
Domaine Tempier Bandol La Migoua 2023 750ml $96 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Mourvèdre (55%), completed with Cinsault (~ 25%) and Grenache (~ 15%) and Syrah. Located on the Beausset Vieux hillside, at an altitude of 300 meters, La Migoua consists of scattered parcels circled by wild scrubland. An extraordinary geological accident formed very complex soil. A sheet of rock was added to a geological reversal with older underground rock layers of limestone, dolomite and dedo-lomite. The rugged relief provides different exposure to the sun (east, west and south), generally less affected by the Mistral, a strong northwesterly wind. The select La Migoua cuvée expresses all the specificity of this 11-hectare site.”
Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvée La Tourtine 2023 750ml $96 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Winery Note “Mourvèdre (~85%), complemented by Grenache and Cinsault. La Tourtine combines power and elegance. This single-vineyard cuvée is made from the selection of an exceptional 5.5 hectares terroir , on a hillside near the village of Castellet, where the vines are exposed to both sun and wind.”
Peter Lauer:
Electric Riesling
Lauer makes some of the most singular, brilliant wines in the world. His wines have all the raciness, tension and electricity of standard Mosel Riesling compressed into an explosive intensity. It’s as though his wines are diamonds—beautiful, complex and dazzling, but with an incomparable density and infinitely edge.

Peter Lauer Ayler Riesling Fass 4 Feinherb, Mosel 2024 750ml $34.50 special, 12 bottles in stock now
Mosel Fine Wines 89 points “The N°4 Ayl, as it is referred to on the front label (the reference to the vintage is left for the back label), is an off-dry wine (with 16 g/l of residual sugar) was made in equal parts from Scheidterberg and Sonnenberg. It offers a nicely aromatic and attractive nose of yellow peach, spices, bergamot, violet, lemon, and pear. The wine coats the palate with a mix of yellow, slightly riper fruits, and zesty elements. There is a touch of smoothness, but the finish is fresh and nicely balanced. This is a very attractive off-dry Riesling. Now-2034.”
Peter Lauer Ayler Riesling Fass 25 Trocken, Mosel 2024 750ml $31.90 special, 12 bottles in stock now
Anne Krebiehl MW-Vinous 90 points “The 2024 Riesling trocken No. 25 was picked in the southeast-facing sites of Scheidterberg and Rauberg. Lemon balm and lemon come with a lovely overtone of cumin on the nose. The palate almost has an earthy vibe, a stony backdrop and a beautiful phenolic concentration reminiscent of apples and hops. This is bone-dry and light, yet it still has exquisite fill and substance. (Bone-dry) (Drink between 2025-2035).”
Peter Lauer Ayler Kupp Fass 7 Riesling Spatlese, Mosel 2024 750ml $44.50 special, 3 bottles in stock now
Mosel Fine Wines 93-95 points “The 2024 Kupp Spätlese N°7, as it is referred to in the central part of the label, was made from fruit harvested from vineyards on the original Kupp hill and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (67 g/l). This cask sample delivers a beautifully aromatic, ripe, and precise nose of tangerine, mango, yellow peach, pineapple, orange zest, and smoke, all wrapped into bakery notes. The wine has great concentration and presence on the palate, not unlike that of a richer Auslese. It has great length and intensity in the very long, rich, yet well balanced finish. It has a great kick of acidity in the very long after-taste. 2034-2054.”
Peter Lauer Fass 8 Ayler Kupp Riesling Kabinett, Mosel 2024 750ml $36 special, 12 bottles in stock now
Mosel Fine Wines 93 points “The 2024 Kupp Kabinett N°8, as it is referred to in the central part of the label, was made from fruit harvested on the original Kupp hill and was fermented down to fully off-dry levels of residual sugar (31 g/l). It initially proves still quite reductive, but quickly shows great complexity and freshness of spearmint, lime, white peach, spices, freshly cut herbs, herbal tea, and wet stone. The wine proves light-weighted and very pure on the palate and leaves an off-dry rather than fully fruity, long finish. This is a great drinking Kabinett. 2032-2044.”
Peter Lauer ‘Kern’ Ayler Kupp Fass 9 Riesling, Mosel 2024 750ml $54.50 special, 12 bottles in stock now
Mosel Fine Wines 94 points “The 2024 ‘Kern’ N°9, as it is referred to in the central part of the label, is a fully off-dry wine (with 30 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit harvested in a complete cross section (bottom to top) of a prime south-west-facing old-vine parcel (called Kern) situated well into the side valley on the original Ayler Kupp hill. It offers a beautifully complex and very attractive nose mixing fresh and minty elements with riper notes of yellow and almost tropical fruits, including passion fruit, tangerine, and mango, all wrapped in smoky scents from its spontaneous fermentation. The wine proves focused and zesty on the palate and proves even light-weighted yet intense and layered. The finish is even taut and quite spicy. This is really superb. 2029-2049.”
