“Scott Frank’s Rhinestones 2015 maybe the best under $25 wine I’ve ever tasted from Oregon” -Kerry Winslow, Grapelive
“This wine is way too easy to drink” –Josh Raynolds, Vinous
We can’t say enough good things about Bow & Arrow and the wines they make. Scott Frank seems to have cracked the code to do two things that are nearly impossible for other Oregon wineries. First, he makes wines that are vibrant, fresh and delicious in a truly old-world fashion. The wines are awesome. There’s a liveliness that we find in the Bow & Arrow wines that can often be lacking from lots of other wines from this state—a zippiness, if you will.… Read the rest
There’s a world of difference between 99 and 100 points. In terms of prestige, collectability and rarity, that extra point might as well be a hundred. The 2000 Bordeaux vintage, when it was released, was hyped as the “millennium vintage” both because of the date and because of the quality relative to any vintage of the 90’s (and earlier). We have a single magnum to offer–a rarity of the first order. We hope it might find a good home in your cellar.… Read the rest

The experience of stumbling across a small vineyard or winemaker in Tuscany can be moment that forever changes your expectations of what Sangiovese can be. The first time we dipped into the Il Carbonaione from Poggio Scalette was just that special. Try it and see for yourself.
The estate, which had been largely abandoned to active cultivation after the death of the previous owner, come into new hands and the fortunate discovery of Sangiovese di Lamole, planted just after the first World War, reinvigorated the estate. The vineyard may be the only example planted primarily to this classic member of the Sangiovese family. In the early nineties Vittorio Fiore came to make the wines from this special place. The results, year after year, have been singular in their depth, spice and underlying fruit.… Read the rest
